my helicopter is full of eels...
  7. Brown and chevron skinks apparently david-when they get moved over i will try and get a close look and some photos. Saw some of the basket fungi at young stage, bursting out of the egg but did not have a camera with me! back on site again tomorrow though so will hopefully remember the camera.
  8. Get some NZ standard chainsaw trousers ansd you wont believe how thin they are! do make summer bearable though-i use the Husky trousers with zipped vents at the back and new Clogger trousers (only $230, made to measure too)
  9. Myself and ross are going to climb a big kauri with a non-climber also-might set up geralds system for him to use. will also try and geta video of us SRT into this beauty of a tree.
  10. i tape mine up at the end of the handle and this jams it in place.
  11. i think geralds setup is really good, not too complicated and makes you use your legs more. Ive tried the RADS setup but didnt get on with it-does the eddy make heaps of difference marc? i just used a vt instead. Could i use a spiderjack2 or not really for single line? cheers for the info marc
  12. No probs with treemotion harness, if you search there is a lot of pics but if you get no luck ill try and get some new ones posted
  13. i was sceptical when i saw them on the ground, thought they were melted plastic bags!!
  14. A chopper that some of my friends used a while ago....a kmax i think
  15. it does get stuck every so often but as its tied altogether you can just unstuck it by pulling it back up on the throwline. For work in the CBD, working over the road etc.. i find it invaluable. A long as you dont install it in a super tight crotch it works sweet. If the tube wont go through a crotch you can always pullout using the rope end and not the throwline.
  16. Some pics of the ART DoubleSnapper and how it works-i really rate the DS as a great bit of kit to save you RopeGuide.
  17. if you dont do the retrieval clip thing its really easy.
  18. Nice one david, ill note that one down.
  19. I think this is how its done. Your retrieval clip has to be on the end of your rope guide, not through the shock absorber. It looks a bit weird but does work, the retrieval clip doubles back over the branch but when you go to remove it all flips into place and falls normally.
  20. i will try and find out tomorrow david.
  21. zubat 270mm in a sawpod here
  22. small as in thin? or is the stock limited to small sizes?
  23. the work is for Auckland City. The skinks live in a reserve that is subsiding and so they are being moved to a bush reserve over the road whilst works happen to stabilize the slip. I think they are very rare banded skinks- a very large amount of money is being thrown at this project to save the skinks and save the slope. The fungi is found growing on fallen deadwood in the bush-saw about 15 where we were working-its a crazy shape!
  24. same here as well- zubat with 270mm blade. i find the bigger zubat blades have the rounded nose that prevents you cutting in tight crotches.
  25. piles of logs weve been stacking to make habitat for endangered skinks that are being moved to this bush section. and some fungi i found
