  1. depends on harness, use, first use ect too many variables to generalize also depends on you or employee and whether you are wanting to run legit and puka
  2. really depends on the loler guy contentious issue some room for justification ect or not just depends who imo
  3. which helmet have you got matey no definate answer other than AS PER MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS
  4. trained staff thats what it needs then no probs:blushing: tbh if all else fails receipt usually has a number on so would even use that as it refers everything back

totally agree i get more adrenalin driving to the job than doing it although it is nice to be tired from doing a good biggy that all went well even the really horrible not fit to climb trees dont give a buzz but they used to:thumbup: try canoeing paragliding rock climbing get it out of your system in fact charge more and fund a parachute jump
  6. i dont understand why you dont have the correct info i always get it from the supplier either on the rope invoice or a phone call to chase it or when i buy from shows i get info off the reels
  7. only fault i can see is you have more sawdust on your right boot rather than the left and it does seem like dust rather than shavings:001_tt2:
  8. fair play to you guys hope it was not like that when you started otherwise your off your heads be interesting what risk assessment stated also worry what hse/courts would say if something happened p.s have finished jobs in weather like that but i would of been sat in van with the rest of them dedication or ...........
  9. for me if your going to do something and comply you may as well do it dont think your that far away if you ever fancy popping up feel free and if you need loler doing even better:thumbup:
  10. Brother thats the model i got off ebay i use 3 different cartridge sizes 9mm for folks names ect max 2 lines of info but i only use 1 18mm for ppe 5 lines max info 24mm for rigging 7 lines max info i also have them different colour green for ppe white for rigging as they are supposed to be easily distinguishable
  11. not going to derail this thread but no gear that does not have a CE should not pass a loler and should not be used in this country for tree work climbing comps may vary as they can deem recreational climbing also if you lolered a rope and did not know what it was you should not really inspect pass/fail it is it suitable, fit for intended use, strong enough, CE marked the reason for identifying ropes is more for tracability than to identify which rope in a bag nothing wrong with calling a rope rope 1 but you should have all details ie serial no purchase date and supplier but as we know life is not always that simple if i cut of a reel first 1 would be for eg 54132A next 54132B and so on
  12. or just get a long split tail and do like i did the retriever end is just sewn back and heat shrinked over but i did it too small to get a crab in just in case someone borrowed it and got it wrong
  13. just where it rubbed or something mine had a melt point after a couple of uses but did not notice how it had done it tbh might have been on the retriever end that got pushed up against a branch and rope but ran a rope across afterwards and melted quite easily
  14. you could buy a petzl jane landyard and make one up but they take very little heat to melt them
  15. good one how long did that take? will the detail be lost as it weathers?
  16. but there is huge lunge potential:thumbup: p.s strange i just filled stove made a brew and had a donut wife is out clearing the drive:thumbup:
  17. best advice is download the assessment schedule from nptc and learn as much of it as you can then it will all click into place the only prob is there is a switch over period so not sure if you will be doing the old units or new but i would guess old unit NPTC | Assignment Schedules
  18. hope you can see the rope markings i bought a label maker so i can mark anything and everything most stuff i buy by reel or cut down also do loler inspections and find it clearer and more professional than writing on a bit of white tape and van fit a lot more info on a small label also dead handy for lowering kits also makes splices look a bit more legit:thumbup:
  19. latex gloves inside any glove keeps hands dry and wind and water out cheap and works:thumbup:
