  2. as you and several others have stated it up to experienced guys and gals to then show you how to go on and give you the experience but please boys and girls be realistic as to how much you could expect to earn in that time i recently had a nice job dropping a couple of sycamores and prunning another 2 sycs i would have done the job in a day a chappy i know who is qualified but lacks experience had been asking if he could come on a proper job for experience so job sorted i went up the 1st tree with him and talked him through positioning cutting techniques ect spent all day there got 1 tree done how much should i pay him or should he pay me

    i have all the descenders other mentioned and a couple more other than the edelrid the big plus for the id is its fail to safe and lock off its down side is the cost size and weight if i was planning on just using it for decent i would use anything but if i was planning on working from it or lots of stop starts i would use the id
  8. hot soapy water is the way to clean em then rinse em then they should be lubricated either with gt 80 silicon spray or my favorite graphite as like other have said it does not attract the dirt folk that do not ever clean there kit are either very lucky or climbing on sticky or potentially sticking crabs and surely 15 mins every now and again is responsible climbing i do loler check and it has never happened that a full set of uncleaned crabs have passed without a wash and lube one guy that comes on here had 8 crabs 4 thrown in the bottom of his bag they all passed and 4 on his kit in everyday use they all needed cleaning and lubing before passing as they were all sticking or not springing shut properly imo if they are sticking there is no point throwing some lube on without cleaning the crap out first
  9. mines 195 amp sealy and i can weld owt wi it looks like a proper welder at that power the smaller are a lot harder to use imo

    those are both listed in the current stihl catalogue not sure what the difference is book is in garage have used several different ones and they all seem to do the job i had one the same as daves but mine broke now got the flat stihl one

    saw and tool will do you one stihl part no 5910 850 1008 or stihl part no 5910 850 1009 not sure what the differences are
