  1. hey, I'm the manager of that department! I also do the training on "Schoolboy Giggles" too, I'll have you know!
  2. Well, what happened? Did she get home horned up or knackered?
  3. I've bid on a few Parts Washers on eBay for the rebuild of this Rover V8 of mine but been too tight to win. But yesterday I was contacted by a chap in Abingdon whose had sold for more than I wanted to give, his buyer had not turned up so I could have it at my price! RESULT!
  4. Back on thread please chaps!
  5. I've been asked if I know of anyone who has a small, crane fed chipper available. This is for thorny arisings on a utility contract. I've offered the GreenMech MultiTask 120 which is available for hire but she is too big for the contract. 6"to 8" would be ideal - rural south west midlands. Form an orderly queue please. (there ain't many of you I'm sure)
  6. Okay Mick. What got you to Colchester as a Rock Ape?
  7. God, how I laughed! Superb.
  8. Service kid, Dad was a pilot although I did the cadet thing at school and had my application to join the TA thrown out as I was too old at 32!
  9. Nice GSD, got brains too!
  10. Henry Gould near Stafford has some shifting kit I reckon, where in the midlands Dave?
  11. Sorry, but we were right busy today and it slipped my mind. But, having said that, it may be listed on our website under "downloads". Then look under manuals - downloadable as a pdf. I think the parts section could tell you.
  12. I sold quite a few of those grinders, good tool in the right hands too. I always used it with brake on and left it on when inching forward! You may have run out of adjustment at the top because things need looking at down below. Try looking at how much friction material is available and I seem to remember that the lever is on a splined shaft, maybe adjust there. I would think that if a brake is fitted, it was for a reason.
  13. Christ! I wish my second ex was able to talk intelligently for one hour without having to watch four hours a day of soaps and "reality" crap on the box. I ended up in the kitchen half the time either reading or doing the books (then I went to work for GreenMech and machinery sales took over!). I am a believer in self sensorship. Turn over or turn it off! I agree with Lorry and I could not stand that Jade Goody either.
  14. Spring rates might be different and the load on a 110 is placed differently over the axles which will also make a big difference. Anti roll bars is working by the sounds of it too, has the 110 got the mounting brackets on the chassis/axle for an AB?
  15. I'll be there with Alastair Thomson our rep from Scotland and John from Arbtech, our dealer for that area too. But I'll be driving a lorry so only a little ale will be imbibed as I have to drive back to the midlands on Saturday night and be ready for the last day of Newark show on the sunday too.
  16. Fair Play and Congrats to all involved. Very best wishes for the future.
  17. Blimey, at this time of night I could not tell you. Some flywheels take a longer bolt than others. What model is it and let you know later.
  18. Lord! And I thought that I was on my own in thinking that the nations standards had slipped. I really cannot abide the majority of contrived, "dead head", nonsense that passes as modern entertainment on the TV. It is absolute drivel. It does not entertain me. I could not give one jot for the lives of the rich and fatuous, soaps, reality TV, game shows, and a lot of what passes as comedy too. The majority of advertising makes me think of not buying that product as well." The circulation booster, does essataly what it says on the tin" Get a life, get some exercise, go for a walk you lazy trout and learn to talk properly too. I fin my time spent on the sport, film or factual channels with a little music thrown in after. news 24.
  19. I saw the new FreeLander tother day on the Stratford bypass.
  20. Have you considered checking the hinged end and other moving parts to see if they are bound? It could be the solenoid but check the easy stuff first.
  21. Relax and work hard, look for things to do, don't be afraid to ask, take enough to eat and drink. Wear the right clothing and footwear, expect to get the jobs nobody likes and complete them as if they were for your Mum and then remember, that's how you've to be forever more. A trial is how they expect you to work when they are not there too! Relax,Good Luck and best wishes!
  22. Okay, it's years ago but my 130 single cab with dropside came from the local dealer in Stratford and was ex-Landrover Special Vehicles. Try asking the dealer to contact LR to see if anything is being released soon. The main issue with overloading is self restraint based on experience.
  23. I suppose it depends on what type of work and who for gives distance travelled. My old outfit, Barrowcliff's, did ute work and we covered Gainsborough - Northampton and Boston - Uttoxeter and we lived pretty much in the middle.
  24. Brooksby College at Melton Mowbray does arb courses.
  25. Look in the Ute Arb section. Qualified people needed in Essex by the look of it!
