  1. '2006 Jenson A340 8" chipper on turntable chassis, single axle,Kubota diesel engine. 480hrs. ' That more like it, 480hrs nothing for A340, £13,000 + vat....well out my price range. I'll never get a decent chipper at this rate. Maybe have to reconsider.
  2. Thanks for the info....2.7 tons, didn't think it'd be that heavy. Schra's towing it with a Transit in his pic. It does look a bit heath robinson like someones just slapped it on that cheap little trailer. the 2.7 tons is putting me off.
  3. Ed, Do you know anything about this Jensen? R Schra posted this pic ages ago at Treebuzz. This is the kind of setup I'm after, medium sized but compact. Did he bolt it onto that trailer or did it come like that? It rotates through 270 degrees. Ever seen one on the 2nd hand market in the UK? Looks like an excellent piece of kit. I want one .
  4. Excellent job on that beech steve, who specified the reduction and why? How come the tyres dont melt??!!
  5. Reg, Great vid. Why did the tree have to come down? Public woodland? Safety? Some commentary would be an excellent addition.
  6. Thanks Ed, dont bother looking out the details of the dealer as I dont like the infeed hopper, too narrow as usual, and the bigger ones will no doubt be far too expensive.
  7. Anyone heard of these chippers? Any good? Available in the UK?
  8. How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year blaaaaah....blah blah blah blah blah blaaaaah Boooorrrrring.
  9. Nice lookin saw Burnham. Charlie, I buy from the States about twice a year. I use Wesspur for some of my climbing gear. The price always comes in cheaper than UK prices even with duty and all that. Not sure about Baileys, I've heard they take a long time to ship to the UK, but that was about 7 years ago. http://www.wesspur.com/ .
  10. Maybe we should vote on what gear gets reviewed here at Arbtalk and how the review is carried out. One review I've never seen is a comparison and analysis between mid-range saws for use on big distmantles. I'm talking 70cc with 20/24 inch bars. It'd be good to see a non-biased comparison of these saws being used during a takedown/s by time-served professional climbers. These would be a good start - Stihl MS441, Jonsered CS2171 and Husqvarna 372xp.
  11. Well done on gettin through that sh*t. I sever all Ivy at the base of trees regardless of wether its part of a job or I'm just walking down a country lane(folding silky).
  12. Dagmar, I completely agree with you on this issue. ID cards and the proposed 40 day max detention of suspected terrorists are the two biggest issues we face as a country just now. If either of these 2 laws come to be passed we're finished.
  13. Rolling Fork? I think the guy was in Africa.
  14. I bet you like Pink Floyd?
  15. Wow! sounds like an interesting place to work. I've heard Ljubljana and Slovenia are beautiful. Sorry I cant do it. Good luck with your search.
  16. Never heard of them before...first time viewing their website. After reading all the text twice I still dont have a clue what exactly it is they are trying to promote. Is this another money making scam a la insurance audits? Those audits were a scam for sure, some arb boys set up a consultancy firm and went out and robbed poor tree surgeons whilst pretending to carry out convoluted safety audits for a well known arb insurer.

    Urgent!

Most humans need some kind of moral guidance in their life, these days it comes from 'The Sun'. Tragic. It should be the 'Mail'

I this, I that, I blah, blah, blah.....me me me me, thats all you ever think about right? Thats the trouble with folks these days..... self obsessed, selfish and only out for one thing - themselves.
  19. I've had a phonecall from these people, talk about 'the hard sell' - con artists, seen one of their websites they set up for a guy here in Glasgow, has some south american dude felling a mahoghany tree. WTF!! Clueless idiots. They want your hard earned cash and they promise to get you 1000 customers a month. BS. Wouldn't touch them with a ten foot barge pole.

Hey jack arb, Dagmar and the rest of the gun freaks are not open for discussion, they specialised in bombastic rhetoric like their hero...... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0B_UZNtEk4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0B_UZNtEk4[/ame]
