Gorillas have K9s for scaring humans and anything else that gets too close. Also for fighting and biting rivals and breaking coconuts etc.

No, because they are at one with nature unlike humans who want to destroy it.

Gorillas just eat random fruit and leaves but they'd destroy you in a hand to hand fight, rip you limb from limb they would. - not bad for a veggie, aye. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it roller! By the way, I aint a veggie but I sometimes wish I was as the meat these days is mysterious, nobody knows where it came from or what they put in it. ps if you want any more veggie animals that would kick your erse, just let me know and i'll post a list.
  8. Reg, What are the other slats/slits in the D-rings for? Where di you get those swivelling Carabiners? Why isn't this pic in focus?

I hope the Scottish Government does ban airguns. If they succeed then the ban will follow in England and Wales. http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/crime/article4666.ece Anyone that signs that petition is an idiot.
  13. Avoid using Supermarket petrol stations...Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys etc all use the worst quality petrol and diesel on the market. Cheap junk.
  14. Sounds terrible, I've got pics of an ash barber chairing, will put them up soon. Thanks for sharing the story of your dad's accident. Could you put the accident report up on arbtalk?
  15. Not only is he struck by an albeit small widow maker but he doesnt make an escape....its like he's hypnotised by the falling stick. Its an interesting vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsfYR2kK81M&feature=related I've had a few near misses when felling in the past - branches breaking out of the crown etc. Anyone else had similar situations with either being too close to stump or widow makers? Sometimes when we fell in tight locations there is no escape route.
  16. Reg, how d'you like just the one sliding D? Can you attach another easy? That union on the beech looks pretty nasty, did you have to rig from it?

    Stihl

    What midrange saw is 3/8lp?
  18. I've heard from a dealer that Cresto are giving their Skybelt range 10 years. These figures are pretty pointless as a harness could be useless and unsafe after just 1 year of climbing. I think the main point of the extension from 5 to 10 is due to harnesses sitting in shop storage waiting to be sold. They have a date of production on them and some potential buyers have been reluctant to buy a new harness that has been in the shop for 2 years etc as it would only then in theory be good for 3 if you follow all the Loler legislation. Reg, looks like a good harness.
  19. Agree, If, you plan to climb every day for the next 15/20/30 years, try and do some strength/weight training at least a couple times a week to help support your joints and tendons as you get older.
  20. I thought their carbs were made in China?
  21. Been trying to increase grip strength for climbing using hand grippers - Saw this grip machine which looked better.....decided to try and make my own version. Made from garage junk - old strimmer shaft, some steel pipe, a broom handle, mahogany offcuts, wire and araldite glue hold it together. Works pretty good, need to get some proper barbell weights.

    Whaaat!

Ed your talking about No 2 right? I thought it was for making those awkward bore cuts on leaning on heavily weighted one sided trees.
