  1. Oh God, thats bad man, good luck with your explanation.
  2. Some people have mentioned pushing the AAAC scheme forward more. I think there is a public relations problem with it in that it seems to have a mystique about it that makes it seem inaccessable to most tree companies. Scotland's arborists have rejected the scheme wholesale apart from a few diehards. There are many great tree care companies in Scotland with people dedicated to improving tree care who do not have the AAAC status and instead thrive of word of mouth and low scale local advertising. I would rather see the ISA's Certified Arborist scheme promoted more pro-actively in the UK. Its far less complicated than the AAAC and could be made very accessable to all company owners and their employess if the ISA got their act together and promoted this Certification more pro-actively.
  3. Perenniporia fraxinea. This fungi caused the rot in the Ash tree that fell and killed three people in Birmingham, U.K. in 2001. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1489072.stm Scroll down and read all the article, Notice in the visible disease section - 'fungal brackets' and severe 'white rot' Whilst doing the AA Tech Cert we were shown close up photos of the actual bracket found at the base of the Birmingham Ash. I believe these pics are in use by a few colleges. Not sure where you could locate them though. Sorry cant be of more help.
  4. Whoopee sling choking the portawrap as close to the stem as possible. Alternatively tie a Cow Hitch with your dead eye sling you use for your timber hitch. I would never used Polyproplene rope for rigging with a Portawrap and pulleys. Above - Whoopee sling Below - Used for attaching porty to tree.
  5. Wow, your numbers have certainly grown since the days of the Roswell incident and the JFK assassination! I suppose you believe that the small explosions heard after the planes hit the towers were part of a controlled demolition by your government aimed at bringing them down in order to 'manufacturer consent' (Chomsky) for the war in Afghanistan and Iraq leading to control of middle east oil supplies?
  6. Hi Jomoco:wave: Welcome to arbtalk, are you the leader of the conspiracy theorists? I see your from Cali, home of Hollywood. Good 2 c u on here anyway. I dont think impeaching Bush will help you guys much.
  7. Reg, Let me tell you something about George Galloway, we've been living with his BS up here in Scotland for a lot longer than any of you guys, ever since the early days when he was a councillor in Dundee where he saw fit to fly a Palestinian flag from the council headquarters. Meanwhile he did nothing for Dundee people. Then onto the west end of Glasgow serving as the labour MP for Hillhead - The pseudo intellectual classes of University Avenue and Byres Rd encourage his contrarian approach where he failed to actually achieved any positive benefits for the poor and unemployed in Partick and neighbouring south-side Maryhill. Up here....he's a chancer, a disingenous fake only interested in his own self serving bombastic rhetoric. Look past the BS Reg, George has pulled the wool over your eyes brother. He'd sell his mother to get ahead.
  8. The new Navara is the laughing stock of the pick up market - all that power stuffed into the engine but a reduced towing capacity!! - ha ha. Same with the other oversized idiot mobile - the Hilux. As for the new shaped L200 - what a joke. I suppose if your worried about the 'finish' then the Navara is the right choice for you afterall. Good luck with it. Cant belive a man that owned a Fourtrack would buy the new Navara!
  9. If you can afford to buy new, go for the new Ford Ranger, Ford spent a lot of time and money improving the Ranger and unlike the bloated new Hilux and boatlike new Navara the Ranger has a 3 ton towing capacity. Ford have kept it real as well with the prices. Toyota, Mitsubishi and Nissan will lose the tradesman/farmer market if they continue down the route of aiming their Crewcabs at the SUV market. I have had a Nissan pickup for the last 3 years but when I renew i'll be getting a Ranger.
  10. Hezbollah have a vitriolic hatred of America, seeing as I am pro American I cannot give them any credibility. They are terrorists who have no problems sending thousands of rockets onto Israeli civilians including children. George Galloway is a self seeking imbecile with little or no credibility except within the quasi-left wing 'neo-cons are ruining the world' brigade. He saw fit to take leave of absence from his role as MP to appear on Celebrity Big Brother leaving his constituents without a parlimentary candidate while important votes were being cast in government. His reason - shamefaced self promotion. If these are your heros then I hope you will enjoy living in the Islamic state that will surely come your way if you continue supporting the likes of Hezbollah and George Galloway with their crypto-fascist ideas and doctrines.
  11. I'm all for whatever Bush, Blair, Brown and the zionist business leaders are doing if it means it annoys people like you, oakwilt, Ed and the other conspiracy theorists. You guys need to grow up and see the world for what it is, not what you childish idealists want it to be. Do you really think you guys are going to change the world by yapping on about zionist, bush/neocon conspiracy theories on an obscure arbforum read by about 60 people!? I'd rather be on Bush's side any day of the week, what do you think we are fighting for? Natural resources are running out - wars are going to be fought over oil and fresh water in the future, so get used to it and decide whose side your on. If you dont like your government stand for parliment or congress or lobby politicians on your deluded conspiracy theories otherwise shut up. Making puny rhetoric on obscure arb forums really isn't going to have much effect.
  12. M. Ed, votre français est très bon. je n'ai pas vu un tel français de bonne qualité auparavant. M. Bullman est un bon destroyer d'arbres de Hêtres. Vidéo très excellente M. Bullman
  13. Correct, I did flip once with a full load on a steep incline whilst driving to the top end of the village, but since adding those weights on the front wheels it hasn't happened again - thank god! that time I flipped the whole village came out to see what all the commotion was, the police turned up and I was fined for reckless endangerment with a heavy goods vehicle.
  14. Can't, seized on there back in summer of 92
  15. I'm sorry Mr, but I think you'll find it's most definatley a mini tractor. It used to be a lawn mower, now its sole purpose is as a log delivery vehicle, and a damn good one at that!
  16. What are u talking about? This is my log delivery vehicle. I make more money selling logs this way in 'micro loads' as I would in a big 12 foot Ifor Trailer. Do you deliver logs in your LDV?
  17. What vehicle do you deliver logs in? This is my delivery vehicle, I just saunter round my local village on quiet days delivering logs in my old mini tractor. I charge £15 a load, sometimes I make £100 a day! Get some strange looks now and again.
  18. Got my Marlow Gecko rope. Thanks to the organisers of the raffle and FR Jones and Son (Jonesie) for the rope and prompt delivery. Cheers:tee:
  19. Maybe you should consider a Fourtrack, there are still a few good ones out there that have never been used for work. Great vehicles, I have an N reg SWB which is an excellent 2nd vehicle for treework - towing chippers/ storing tools etc. I also have a Nissan D22 (main vehicle) which is the Kingcab version of the older Navara. Its been a very good pickup. Tows 3 tons and is reasonable good offroad. I like the pickups because you have more storage for all your tools and there is no fumes in the cab.
  20. Did the American government under Reagan invent Hezbollah? The terrorists who killed over 200 hundred US Marines in a Beirut bomb blast in the 80s? The al Quada/Bush Admin/Neocon conspiracy is an insult to any reasonably sane person's intellingence.
  21. Thats cause your in New York state. Try Texas
  22. I think al Quada are a very real threat and if you and others assume they are dreamt up by the neocons in Washington DC your diminishing and almost trivialising the severity of al Quada's quest for power throughout the world. Dont fall for the conspiracy theories as they are conjured up by desperate masochists with a thirst for self deceit. These masochists like to feel they are being suppressed by a higher force as it gives them focus, something to make their dull lives more interesting. Al Quada are real and they are a potent threat to western democracy. I'm on the side of America, I think America has lot to offer the world.

    Dead Elms

Nice vid Eden! How d'you like the Sugoi? Have u tried a shorter friction hitch like the Distel with a slack tender? That prussik looks well long. First time I've ever seen anyone climb with the big petzl 'boss', i take it you like it? Felling shot is comical when the groundie does a runner.
