  1. I had a 20ton bottle jack that worked well found it up the scrappy in a truck got it for £3:001_smile:
  2. I made a few orienteering plaques a while ago and i treated them with danish oil to bring the colour our more and then a few coats of yacht varnish. The yacht varnish gives it a nice glooy shine, moves with the wood and uv protects it, I re-paint them every few mths to get decent protection.

  13. Haven't been doing it that long a few years max just take pride in everything i do, cheers for the help offered.
  14. I think the record lathes are good choice, You need to think what space you have for the lathe that will decide what you get too. I started with a face plate,revolving center and a fixed center, started with mushrooms and then worked my way up. When i do another goblet i'll take pics in stages to show you, How much do you want to spend do you want to buy new or second hand? Good tools are robert sorby they do a starter set for about £100. My Lathe is a myford ml8 i paid £80 for it and thats doubled in price at least now and that was from ebay. I'll get some pics on soon.

  17. There is a thread started if you search for woodturning there is alot of info on there. The best thing is to set yourself a budget because you can spend a fortune starting off. If i can help post here or pm me, good luck:thumbup:

  19. I know someone who had a dream of playing football and kicked the wardrobe in his sleep and broke two toes, that took about 6-8 mths to heal. The only pain i felt was when i couldn't stop laughing when he told me.

  24. The hazel chairs are fantastic and very comfortable also go for alot of money, i was thinking of going on a few weaving and Chair making courses like that.
