  1. Aye, he really has. I've heard people say that he's doing it for reduced jail time, yet he's already been sentenced. Do you reckon it'll get him sacked? He's like a wilko frying-pan teflon don.
  2. Agreed. Site investigations will determine foundation depth and type and subsoil conditions. Without those, any arboricultural advice is guesswork.
  3. SRV. Quite probably my favourite guitar player.
  4. Plant some trees and start experimenting mate. There's a wealth of information out there for you to get started on. Good luck.
  5. My interptretation is that movement is necessary for trees to develop strong unions. Often, when presented with a poor union, there will be branches either fused or rubbing, higher up. Removal of these rubbing branches (which used to be the norm if thinning trees) exposes the unions below to stresses they aren't sufficiently consolidated to deal with. You could instigate fusion (inosculation) of branches if you like. However, it may limit natural movement of the crown, which could in turn, make things worse.
  6. I think one of the biggest issues will be the fact that the LA's who do have online maps, don't use standardised maps. It's possible that the point data could be used but without a 'Central Record' for want of a better phrase, it will be canny hard to carry out with any degree of accuracy.
  7. That he has. This is as good a starting point as any: https://www.trees.org.uk/Trees.org.uk/media/Trees-org.uk/Documents/Conference17/WED-07-Dr-Duncan-Slater.pdf
  8. Have you got one?
  9. That seems to make sense to me. If the public can't be fenced off, then you have to make it less likely they'll come a cropper.
  10. ^ Agreed. Also, they've shot themselves in the foot by admitting their new structure is likely to damage a TPO'd tree.
  11. I think that the tree wins here. Surely it was noticed at the time of rebuilding. If the garage owner had submitted an app prior to works, then it might be contestable. Can't see a reason why the tree should suffer eitherway.
  12. Aye, `in real life, you don't want to be re wrapping trees.
  13. Post brexit, people will have eaten the deer. It makes sense to guard against rabbits in the interim.

    New 880

I'd be inclined to follow what it says on the tin. Saying that a 576 is the biggest saw I've had, and that was used when I got it.
  15. https://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=1217 ^ Is worth a punt. Add some throwline to the order to make it worth your while.
  16. While I agree with the sentiment, I don't think euthanasia is the word you're looking for. Euthanasia is an act of compassion.

    Jokes???

A woman is sitting at her deceased husband's funeral. A man leans in to her and asks, "Do you mind if I say a word?". "No, go right ahead", the woman replies. The man stands, clears his throat, says "Plethora", and sits back down. "Thanks", the woman says, "that means a lot",
