  1. What are you on about? You started with a rant about Hollywood's woke offerings, and then warped into something to do with televisions, and then went sideways to an angry rant about C-19. Are you alright mate?
  2. At the end of the day, TV shows are there to generate revenue from advertising. That could be for a product or an ideology. Whatever is topical, or is soon to be topical, will be what's delivered.
  3. I think this is a fair point. There seems to be a disproportionate amount of action movies featuring superheroes. Either way, it's good to see balanced debate.
  4. I know it was suggested that some people were getting tested twice: Used coronavirus tests handed out by mistake in Birmingham WWW.BBC.CO.UK One student who was given a used kit said some people had opened and used the testing kits.
  5. In the first instance I'd get some cutting boots, some cutting trousers, a helmet and some waterproofs. Plus a chainsaw ticket or two - Maintenance and crosscutting + felling small trees would be good start. I'd be inclined to work for a few firms, unless the one you're with is evidently good. The more people you can work with, the more skills, hints and techniques you'll pick up.
  6. Aye Rob, My eight year old niece had to isolate due to a kid in her class testing positive for covid-19. Yet her folks don't as they're secondary contacts. Nor does her wee sister who goes to the same school. It's difficult to know how to approach it.

Aye, four dots on the knuckles. I'm good mates with a copper, so would suggest that ACAB is a bit too broad.

  11. I was told that he was a piano tuner in a past life. Can't go wrong with Thor.
  12. I wouldn't pin my hopes on getting a core sample that is readable throughout. I reckon hiring in a resistograph for a day would be your best bet for a chance of determining the age of the tree. I would only use a borer if I wanted to know how solid a tree was or wasn't. I've been shown how to use a fractometer but haven't had cause to use one.

  14. I was gifted one. You want a two threaded one for hardwood. I suspect the reason Steve mentioned the small tree is that an increment borer is about a foot long, so if your tree is >24" diameter, the rest is guesswork. You might be able to use a resistograph to pick up tree rings.

  20. I've been drifting back into 3D modelling and animation. I'm pretty busy with surveying though, so that should pay the bills in the interim.
