  1. I dunno mate. I'm erring on the side of caution. Medical professionals are taking this seriously. Ultimately, I think that tier'd lockdowns are bound to fail. We can't just stop start the economy. I'm happy (well really unhappy) to not have a game of pool until they have a plausible vaccine for those who will cark it before their time. After that, I reckon things should open back up. But, There's not going to be a huge amount of things to open back up. Which is a bit shan. Loads of my mates are musos and their income stream has gone, with no chance imminent return. I dunno mate. I think I'm in Sussex/Kent way next week. Will see if you're about if so.
  2. Interesting. Conversely I heard it argued that the Isle of Wight was in Tier 1 because they weren't factoring the jail population when working out c-19 distribution.
  3. Nice work mate!
  4. Sorry to hear about your youngun. The thing with pollen is it's airborne. I usually have no hay fever, but when the right (wrong) combination of grasses are about I really suffer. Is it possible for the doctors to determine or suggest which trees/plants are most likely to provoke a reaction? I'd be inclined to plant a rowan in its place. Small flowers, nice berries, loads of birds.
  5. I've been searching for the remains of Emperor Hadrian up here, all I've found so far is 'The Great Wall of Scotland'. I'm fortunate that I have high friends in places. I'm in an advisory role in Wales project, but the Chairman of the Board used to live and work there and knows people and the language. Quite looking forward to managing a chunk of land.
  6. I hadn't thought of it like that before, cheers. I guess it depends on the scale of the company though. I might be living near Aberystwyth next year. Purely because normal people aren't exempt from inheritance tax, so it's either buy land or give the gov a daft sum of money. Hope you have a good weekend mate.
  7. Maybe so. The ruling classes still have their castles. I find the idea that people consider workers' unions to be greedy a bit troubling. If you don't keep people in check they tend, in my experience, to extract the kidney juice.
  8. Aye. But, Maggie killed off industry in this country. We don't have the resources or skillsets to compete with our neighbours. We could have left EU and still worked alongside them, but this Government has missed a prime opportunity to do that. I voted to leave the EU, I'd hoped there might have been some adults at the bargaining table. I regret that choice.
  9. Big Dunc Ferguson got my old gaffer back to his house in autumn, as he thought tree works had made the leaves fall off.
  10. I dunno mate. I think that flagshagger Farage is a bit lost. A session with Mark Francios playing with soldiers may shut him up for a bit.
  11. For all their failings, without the Woodland Trust there would be no 'Windy Shithole Woods' in Northumberland.
  12. Aye, now that his buddy Trump is out on his feet, that fleeting relevance he had has fizzled out like broken candle.
  13. To his credit, he's been against HS2 from the start. However, he knows nothing about woodland management. I suspect he's trying to distance himself from brexit.
