  1. Blimey, that's a big'un!! Great find!
  2. Nice pics mate. Looked like another smooth job.
  3. Ah, I see it now! Nice one Danny.
  4. Cool. Don't get me wrong, I am no 200T-revving silky-hater. Just curious to hear people's reasons...I made the initial comment because I couldn't see a chainsaw on Danny's harness so wondered if he had dismantled all the branchwork with a handsaw.
  5. Fair enough. I am not trying to be negative - I have just never found the need for a silky saw when felling/dismantling. I tend to stick with a chainsaw and use step cuts so I can snap off pieces with both hands and throw them where I want. Horses for courses and all that....
  6. I bloody hope so - just spent a year and a bucket of money getting my qualification!! Yes - it is recognised in industry because it is written by the Arb Association. It has a good reputation. It is nothing like NPTC qualifications as these are just certificates of competency in practical matters. The AA Tech Cert is a more academic course aimed at practitioners to enhance knowledge of most areas in Arb.
  7. Yeah - he comes on here now and again. Apparently he used to be a tree surgeon.
  8. Nice tidy job. How come you were using a silky to remove the branches?
  9. I like the 441. I like the anti-vibe springs instead of rubbers - makes it very smooth but only if the chain is kept super sharp. If it is a tad blunt I think the springs make it shake more than the rubbers used to. But a great saw - powerful and light.
  10. If there are some nice lengths you could sell it to turners? Sorry - that wasn't your question and quite honestly I don't know if it burns well.
  11. If people are busy in the run up to Christmas, maybe do this in the New Year?
  12. So I should cancel my order on the Veyron and stick with my Passat estate?
  13. No, I couldn't tell for certain. Looks pretty funky on that pot huh!
  14. Had to rub my eyes when I saw this last week!
  15. I think wherever it is, it needs to be easily reachable by train if we are intending to have a couple of sherberts. Taunton and Bath are both fine. Shall we stick with 13th or are lots from here going to Kew?
  16. Great, thanks Gaynor! Good idea. Do you have a date or location in mind? Perhaps make a suggestion and see who is up for it?
  17. 3 of my colleagues have done their back in during the last 3 weeks. I think this must have alot to do with the colder weather combined with not stretching/warming up for work.

No. I think we're all missing something.
  19. Take a can of shaving foam - freeze for 24 hours. Then carefully cut away the aerosol can to leave a solid block of frozen shaving foam. Chuck in to a mate's car on a hot summers day, and hey presto, you have a car totally full of foam!
  20. Cheers Justin. Sorry, I don't mean to be demanding on your time mate. I would just prefer to give you the business and can't understand why everyone else is adding VAT on their boots!
