  1. Now thats a bleedin good idea !! last time he bought me a bottle , he feckin drank it !!! bloody libertys ! cheeky bugger Lol
  2. Lol maybe why the cars knackered, not enough brass left over letting her spend to much on Shoes ??
  3. well what can you say ! as if doing our job isnt hard enough, through legitamate constraints, dealing with that must really piss a bloke off their should be an alteration to the legal deterent . MAKE THEM EFFECTIVE . a caution or community service really is a joke, make them wear bright clearly indentifying full set of clothing so that society knows exactly what & who they are. if they then re offend then 10 mins locked in a room with the guys whos jobs this scum are putting on the line, might just focus their thoughts. third conviction cut off a hand ! & then when they get out of hospital make them wear the clothes again !!! No one should want to take a mans tools, the means of feeding his family these theives should be humiliated at any & every opportunity
  4. an interesting option food & yr washing done : result
  5. because your asking us the question "when is enough enough" then really you know what to do already you abvoiusly feel he's taking the piss , its up to you if you let him continue the risk with not acting is that others will follow the his lead ..... personally a rocket up his arse as a minimum if you believe hes worth another try or Bye !
  6. mate thats a bit ruff on the ol' guy Lol you sure want your pound of flesh dont ya but seriously, your Dad must be a Top man, or a complete lun' lol effective tree climbing in my opinion, is mainly a result of technique, skill & experience. speed is often a youthfull and inexperienced trait the old joke about A young & old bull stood on top of a hill, are talking about the herd of cows that they are watching in the fields below them, the young bull says "i'm going to run down there & s**g the first cow I get to" , the old bull says "fine you do that but i'm going to walk & s**g the lot" .

  11. how about lots of agro ,determination, not giving up when most others do, personal drive, inter personal skills, being able to take in drivel from those around you without droppin them, dealing affectively with annoyance, coping with shister competitors, losing jobs because customers are too tight to pay a professional who then ring you to dig them out of the mess they are in, should i continue ? Imo a paper of that nature should only be written from the 1st perspective. All too many think they can come into this Game & smash eggs with big sticks because theres BIG MONEY in it WELL THeres BIg feckin EXPENSE & HASSLE to go with any income someone somewhere COLLEGES are filling folks heads with the notion that this is an easy well paid industry its A Shame they dont give a more rounded appraisal its FUN! but its Bloody hard work , DIRTY grimy work, physically harsh, with a short career span. tho' for a certain few probably the best job in the world,
  12. A paper based on others experience & knowledge teach's you what exactly ?
  13. decide where you want to go & then ask, but IMO ms260 is a good all round pro saw
  14. keep goin Pete try not to let it get you down ! I'm only a phone call away , if I can help I will .... kit will be in the post on monday, rgds Iain
  15. running a business when everything is good is easy the true test is when its not easy " sorts the BOYS from the Men " from springs to mind theres an old saying IF BUSINESS WAS EASY THEN EVERYONE WOULD DO IT !! well boys & girls ' it aint easy ' there has been recently massive encouragement to ' start your own business ' be your own boss the problem with that is, when theres not enough money or the shite hits the fan the the buck stops with the boss !! couple that with the credit give away frenzy ' which FEELs Good ' that happen over the last 3 years , massive debt rising year on year , in the housing market alone the first time buyer has effectively been unable to buy in many parts of the country for 5 years, streching LTv mortgages beyond obsurd, then credit card give aways I mean a credit card availability of more than someones annual salary then add on store cards , loans, mortgages = disaster & what do people faced with an inabiliaty to pay do GET ANOTHER BLOODY CREDIT CARD to pay them of with UTTER MADNES
  16. the problem with this as I see it, Confidence & reluctance there are those who can spend but are waiting, just in case they can buy it cheaper in a few weeks/months, cash flows are drying up for many businesses large & small , good & poor ones alike this will weed out those unable to stand & may leave a stronger retail/service base, Many have simply lost confidence , therefore are hesitant to do most things, scared of there own shadow, the real concern is are we (MEDIA led) talking ourselfs into a depression. Glass Half empty etc !! without some line drawn under this, then things are going to bumble along for quite some months yet, around March next year will be a very interesting imo the stock markets are the first to lead.
  17. Hi Simon

iso is basically an idoit proof based senario, covering all aspects

so that you do, what you say you do & can support it with a documented procedure trail

from precurement , employment ,training, customer enquiry through to completion

Basically a peice of paper to cover everything , So your addopted systems follow the same path time & again & conforms to legislation, your policys & standards

its not that bad if you have chas & constructionline then your document pack will be in good order, even though the wake up for me was

go on then prove it, all of a sudden you can see your own areas to bollster areas of weekness

Didnt bother going through with 14001 once I had time to understand it better as its not that big a deal IMO

Iso 9001 is your proof of a quality standard. IMe big business doesnt care about trade bodies but very much understands the relevance of Iso, Chas & C'line

if you want a chat, office no is 01287 644555

    RGds Iain

Imo go with a ukas accredited awarding boby as isoqar & others arent worth the paper they are printed on

  18. roadside work in the N york moors national park a v busy little road
  19. also if a tpo has been served the owners details should have been traced, if at all possible. planning admin/legal services should have the original doc'
  20. permission does not need to be sought when using the exemptions, they are there for a purpose not for the hell of it, it is the responsibility of the person(s) responsible for any works to support / evidence offer proof that they were right to use an exemption, if the canopy of the tree is solely supported on 'dead wood' then that part 'must' then also be dead as the translocation process does not occur through dead cambial vessels habitat does not = keep dead wood , risk management is a strong factor in any decision, when managing tree stock Again if the % Dead wood is such that the tree is no longer viable then DDD again comes to play, whether that means complete removal of the specimen or leaving sufficent material as to sustain habit again that is a decision to be taken, risk v perceived reward.
  21. ooops sorry i'm l8 on this one Pete let me know if you need owt mate rgds iain
  22. I was sent this recently via email re a large companys attitude to its suppliers I have removed the specifics which are replaced by ** "Mate of mine in the building trade. Was invited by ** to a 'conference' in a hotel in ** last week. MD / Head honcho was there to address the audience. All sat down, cup of coffee etc. everyone from the man who supplies the nails to the man who supplies the toilet seats: "good morning ladies & gents, you know who I am, I though it was imperative that I let you all know in person that none of you will be getting paid for 6 months. At the back of the room are some gentlemen with forms with the details of our legal team if you wish to take legal action, however I must inform you now that you will still not get paid and you will never supply ** ever again. That is all I have to say, thankyou for your time, good morning" nice Eh !
  23. to my knowledge refreshers are advisable & 'not' mandatory
  24. the real difference between obtaining a nptc CoCs at entry to the industry & the ability of a skilled tradesmen, are easliy observed by seasoned practioneers. practise = comercial fluidness this can only come with time at work in many senarios, competance doesnt mean excellence , it is a recognised benchmark for skills to be developed from. Again as for what is needed in law to use a tophandled saw requires cs 39 which requires cs38 & cs30 31, along with others such as pa1 etc the rest is upto the individual , though letting employees loose with equipment without some training ( whether this is formalised external or in house is entirely upto the manager/owner) however if the wheel comes off & you cant evidence the training, then you could be up shite creek without a paddle
