  1. Sold my Beretta 682 Gold E adj stock a while back. It was a really nice gun but i could not get on with it even with the adj stock. I personally would stick with a decent Browning for £2K price tag. Like others have said dont get hung up on ad stock. You will find a none adjustable that will fit and shoot better AND stop you permanently peeing about with its set up. Best advice I can give is to buy where you can actually try. A gun may feel perfect in a shop but shoot like an arse. Ohh and by the way I am now shooting better with a £400 second hand Lamber than I ever did with £2K's worth of Beretta!
  2. Good to see you again today Paul, really good day and informative. Might have time for some sleep now Richard
  3. Best bit was when one of them still had his silky on in the second vid
  4. you can now get canestan hc from a pharmacist (think it used to be prescription only). Very good on rash/heat rash types but dont use on open sores. If things persist I wouldnt wait too long before seeking pro medical advice. As far as bracken goes I wont go near the stuff. Thought they were trying to bring in chemical only control to reduce health related risk associated with it?
  5. Thanx A friend of my better half has recommended a teak/linseed oil mix. Trying that at the moment. Any colour can be done by just adding an oil based dye to the 2nd/3rd coat. Dont know how it will work out yet.
  6. We took down a multi stem cypress and a yew recently. Both where to be logged for the customer, being stupid I offered to do a bench in the cypress in exchange for the yew timber Didnt have as much time on it as I would have liked but the customer was happy! Did the 4' mush for a customer last month. Used it to 'decorate' our stand at a local show the other week and now have to do another 2 of the bloody things! Also pic of an Owl I did foc for a local school in their 'wild' area
  7. Like a lot now I have started to take using my debit card for granted. Went to pay a bill the other day and it was declined Bad enough being declined but even worse I knew it was no where near its limit. To cut the story short someone somehow had funded their on line gambling habit to a considerable degree (well over four figures). Luckily the bank had seen the transactions as 'abnormal' and locked down the account. Its been nearly a week now and the account is just about back to normal - its a pita having to go into the bank in person just to get some money for fuel! The bank have been spot on etc. but its just a reminder to keep track of things and keep your details safe. The bank don't know how the details where taken because there are so many ways it can be done now apparently
  8. Used them for over 12 months. Initially impressed but found that the finger areas wore out too quick. If they had a bit 'more' on the palms/fingers they would be a really good glove. Spoke to Stihl about them at the last APF and got the usual 'thank you for your feedback' A good general glove but wear out too fast if handling ropes would be my general opinion.

  18. I have some small woodland stuff on the go and could do with a good contact for forwarding out the timber. They are just small contracts at the moment (odd day or two for the forwarder) but there may be more projects in the future. Most of my stuff if domestic arb so I am not set up for extraction work. If anyone interested in helping out could you contact me (pm, etc) re kit available/rates. Work is in the Eden Valley area. Thanks Rich

  22. Interesting thread as i have just been offered about 3 acre of thinning/clearfell mainly larch/spruce (basically do the work for the return from timber). Never really done any of this type of work as we are mostly domestic stuff. If I worked out timber volume and equated that to min £20/t roadside would that be a safe price? Anyone know any good leaflet/books that explaining timber spec for cutting ie strainers/saw logs/etc size and spec. Sorry chris, don't want to derail thread! p.s. splitter going well
  23. Try using the branch you are going to cut, that way you don't have to move it about as much around your body
