  1. Looking good Ian, how do you get the grouting in so clean? On mine I tried wet with a trowel, wet through a gun, even dry swept in but it either was rubbish or slopped on the tiles😡 Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

    stihl 064

A good clean out, new plug, reset of carb and fitting skip chain would cure it all I reckon.
  3. Would you like to elaborate or is this just a random statement that's supposed to remind us how awesome you really are?
  4. Mmmm, and just to add a little more gravy salts to the water, depending when twigs die, they may retain keys. A healthy tree will shed them.
  5. Jomoco, I think there is a misunderstanding here. The onus would be put on the manufacturer & owner of said whole tree chipper to have adequate stop bar protection fitted as Quip gave a link for. As I understand it, there are no whole tree chippers in this country fitted with such. Therefore, as our HSE like to stipulate a trained operator should refuse to operate such a machine.
  6. No, I don't think so. From memory the story was it started life on some big factory. Was used by a runner bobbing bits and pieces back and forth.
  7. Wow, a blast from the past there! Forgot I put it up here. Unfortunately it's only 2wd but with a bit of weight on the back would go anywhere! Lol!
  8. That made me chuckle! I can picture you stood there watching the lads with a long bar of limb wood in your hand. Anyone slacking gets it! Lol!
  9. Quite a bizarre statement. You admit we are likely to lose most of our ash, yet still say folk are on a witch hunt?😜 Ok, you live in Norfolk. Your back yard isn't a signature for the whole country. It's a bit like having a storm force warning for the whole country and saying "well the roof hasn't blown off my house yet"
  10. Let me know if you ever get short of any days, sure I can sort summat. Will see you July anyhow, I'll be there in my usual serious self😜
  11. Very true Dobbo, the day should be same length for everyone on site too👍 How you getting on, you plenty of work?
  12. That's why a good groundy is worth more money than a good climber. My interpretation of a groundy, is someone who can do anything on the ground, including rescue. The most underrated member of any tree crew. When a climber gets "good" he thinks he's too "good" to drag, hence goes down the pay scale IMO.
  13. Good money that, there's folk on here would send crew of three men and a chipper for that😎
  14. Looking real good there Ian. You fancy doing about 15sqM for me?😜
  15. You pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Oh, hang on a minute😜😜😜 .
  16. Horse chestnut while on holiday. My daughter is 142cm tall. I've worked on some big trees but this is the biggest healthy chestnut I've seen in years.
  17. Yep, it is sometimes. BUT, perhaps you've not seen what others have! Around us it's not a seasonal thing, and yes I'm long enough in the tooth to have seen a few seasons come and go! In a couple of years time you can come back and tell me I was wrong when they've all come back from the dead. Likewise, if it's the other way around, I'll just say "I told you so" If only I were a betting man;-)
  18. If I were brutally honest after what I've seen today,,,,, it's too late. 👎
  19. Only just found this thread lastnight, but made me look around today while travelling between jobs. Although last year we suspected there were a couple of possible candidates, we had no idea this could be such a catastrophic, widespread issue. First job today involved us travelling across a local ancient common ground. It covers many hundred acres and has a vast and varied species list. While driving approximately a half mile through on one of the major routes, I'd guess we saw around 10 common ash. Unfortunately, only one of these trees could be described as healthy. The rest varied from no leaf, to approximately 40% canopy cover. A very big wake up call here,
  20. Very good little tip that, cheers for sharing. I'll be trying that on a couple of ours.
  21. Very different operation on the Johnny Miker.
  22. I reckon he drove it there. 😄😄😄😄😄 .
  23. Yeh, I've never driven anything like that loaded but seen plenty overloaded, they just look like they could swing around at the back end, especially if they're towing too.
  24. Nice one, you ditched the "O" licence malarkey too then? How's it ride on the road loaded? Always been a bit dubious about that style of truck on a single wheel?
