Not sure about the 375 myself, but you are correct, on the old 365 you could fit the bigger pot(I know it as the 372) but even then, I think it needed to be on the 365 "special", not its earlier version. As for mine, and thanks for bumping the thread, its on the bench now in bits. I tore it down last week with the intension on cutting out the baffles, but not got them done yet. I'll sure crack on with it shortly, and hopefully if I remember, get some pics and stick them on here.

Not sure if it's a point worth considering or not, but it's not been raised here is that guy who wanted a cheaper price to buy now will not buy later if you deal him. My point here is, I'd think of selling green possibly to new customers if that was the only sale on the table. Otherwise, those regulars who've usually bought seasoned will continue to do so at a higher price. As pointed out though, would depend on difference in price between them.

Yeh, happens in exposed places anywhere. Can be either due to extreme cold winds and even sun scorch. Yet again, being exposed to any of the above shortly after trimming will make it worse.

Many thanks for that. Good guidelines I'll try and follow for the few customers of mine that have asked. On a side note, for those who spray, what sort of money are you charging? I was thinking of basic charge £40 that will cover one knapsack full, then possibly £30 per tank after the first.

Putting the connies through a 9" vermeer would sure get rid of the majority of them😍 In serious mode, I'd say if there's been lots of flying insects around them for years, and the connies haven't gone brown yet would indicate they aren't cypress aphid. Edit; On the flip side of that, if they aren't trimmed the browning will not be as evident unless it's a very bad infestation.

Get it clean as you possibly can, get any flakey off then make sure it's not got wet for a couple of weeks. Then spray and inject with hot wax. I'd suggest not doing this in winter as a chassis never gets properly dry. Using hot wax tends to penetrate better but isn't a long term protection IMO, so I'd suggest injecting and coating with the hot wax, then a couple of days later, a covering of black Shultz will give protection from hard wear, chipping and pressure washing. Also looks well.

Jack, it feels like I've got an old friend back! Lovely little saw with a big punch. As for the modding, it's purely opening up the can. I'm going purely from memory so bare with me if I slip up! Lol! Firstly remove the screw(s) holding the deflector plate over the outlet of the exhaust can. If there's a spark screen under it, take that out and attach it to a 3 foot cane with a bit of duct tape. This will work as a micro fly swatter, or mozzie swipe, much more useful than it's designed use. Then you should be presented with a recess with the outlet hole in it. Get a drill, around 7-8mm, and drill several holes in the back of the recess. The idea is to make this rectangular recess into one big hole, so once there's plenty of the tin drilled i simply got a chain file and honed out the remaining metal and made good. Then, screw the deflector plate back on, refit clutch cover, start, and reset carb. It's likely it'll only need a tad out on the high screw. Just in case your in any doubt, there's no going back unless you buy a new can, so you've been warned IT WILL BE LOUDER THAN IT WAS!!!! It will transform the saw though, and in my opinion not be too far behind the power of a 200, it would be a close contender for a 540 and yes, it will pull the pants off a 201. All this from a 3kg saw. Once done, you may also be lucky enough to have the most retro fly swat and be the envy of all your mates.

Not sure, I was half joking really but I get a funny feeling it wont get much use now the 192 is in full swing again! I'll have a look and see how much I paid for it if you're really interested, but its had less than 10 tanks of fuel through it since new, and I wouldn't be giving it away.

Well, I'm back in the 192 club again! Having one on the shelf in bits for over two years and it being robbed for many parts, I finally got my new carb last week for it. It took about ten minutes to fit including a full set of lines, then about two hours hunting round for other bits to make it a complete saw again. Eventually fuelled up and fired into life on the third pull. Had a couple of tanks through it today and can say I'm chuffed to bits with it. P,S, anyone want a hardly used 150t?😜

I put a 46 hyd in mine. Just keep away from "universal" oils and stick to a specific hydraulic.

Exactly! Dan, a very good point about woodland felling. Perhaps this is where the theory is intended where stems are usually sound. Unfortunately in the world of arb though, there is a much higher risk of there being a rotten, leaning unpredictable stem in the middle of someone's garden with cherished obstacles around.

No Ian! That's the excuse everyone uses! If you haven't a big enough saw to cut in one, either get a bigger saw, learn how to do it to multiple bar widths, or get someone in who can do it! Edit; Ian, was this actually an NPTC instructor who gave this advice? If so, did he also point out the negative effects of doing this in various other situations?

Yeh, I know I'm renown for going on about this Paul, but it really is a bad practice. Most of the time all goes well, and in such cases as this it doesn't really matter as they're fairly straight stable stems etc. BUT, I'd love to get to the bottom of why people do it. Surely it cannot be a practice that is now being taught?😳 I would certainly hope not, in fact, it needs to be part of your training "how NOT to fell a tree" IMO.

Just the way all the "toes" have been cut off before the fell.

I know this post was a few weeks ago, but can I ask, were you taught to fell like that or is it just something you've seen others do?
