  1. Dead elm takedown by Frank. My appologies for his shirt but he insisted on wearing it as soon as he heard Mike would be taking pics;
  2. Just did 92kg, but something popped in my wrist:nurse:
  3. You may need to brush up on your sprinting ability, because if i catch you, you will be squashed:001_tt2:
  4. Only someone in the "big lads club" would get away with that one:001_tt2:
  5. Sorry Brian, i was talking about the surround?
  6. So in your experience Brian, would a marble surround crack if it had an inset stove put in? Sorry for the slight derail, but this is the ONLY reason i have not fitted a stove as i was told it would crack a one-piece marble surround:confused1:
  7. Always carry mine when climbing. Never used it in emergency, but used it at groundies in anger!
  8. Cant remember the name of it stevie, but is that the one with a stupid steel flap in the hopper to stop chips hitting you in the face? Never really worked well because as soon as you put a log in, it held the flap open:sneaky2:
  9. Hope i dont encourage a derail here, but does anyone know if the law still applies that if your plate is different on the trailer to the truck, but still belongs to the same keeper, its still legal? Used to be so years ago in agric but not sure if it still applies.
  10. I would probaly miss this bit out Martyn, they may say you have put an "unreasonable profit" on the works; But if you want to try and break down the quote, this is the part you could explain the £260 would not cover the waste removal, and if they wish to settle at this amount you would have to return the said waste.
  11. Ah, you're speaking like a customer young 'un! You need a better sales approach. With experience you will learn how to get the customer "wanting" to give you the money:sneaky2:
  12. Be real nice when i get some silver wheel trims for it, a 30 foot ladder on the top and sign written with "drives tarmacked, scrap collected, gravelling, patios cleaned, trees lopped and topped" on the side:thumbup1:
  13. Mmmm, I know i have done my fair share of winding people who dont sell by volume, but if you are buying cord timber in, it is usually bought per ton. But, if buying green cord you are only likely to get 1.6 - 1.8 cube of dry firewood from it. Hope that helps without causing confusion:blushing:
  14. I sell quite a few of these little round logs in summer, known as "pole logs" and "specially selected" for fire pits and patio heaters Customers think they are getting a bargain at £5 a small bag:sneaky2:
  15. Crap picture, but soon to be mine.
  16. They could be getting visits at dawn:lol:
  17. Is there a hand bag rack somewhere:001_rolleyes:
  18. I spoke to Joe Miller also, and he quoted £5.75 for small quantities for 1cube bags and £5.30 for 0.75 cube bags. All in multiples of 25. The guy is a sound bloke. He told me their bags are anti UV treated, and even offered some practical advice. He said they have customrs who are getting 5 or 6 trips out of these bags, so if that works out they should be worth it. Sounds like you got a deal out of him Rob:thumbup1:
  19. Ask the customer if they prefer tipped on floor, or leave the bag and ask for £10 deposit. If they choose the leave bag option, theres a likelyhood they will ring again:sneaky2:
  20. Origional quote was in reference to this; http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/10820-sodium-chlorate-taken-shelves.html
  21. Following the (apparant) withdrawal of sodium chlorate got me thinking what everyone is using to treat stumps nowadays? I always used ammonium sulphamate until it was withdrawn. I do know there is the glyphosate option (although technically not correct use) and also such as SBK that is recommended to be mixed with parrafin, but often customers dont want such chemicals in their gardens. So what are you guys using?
