  1. Your being fed duff advice there mate. A well operated mulcher on the material you suggest will not damage the exsisting crop.

    RAM chippers

Isn't VFT the standard adopted for torque settings on all forestry and arboricultural machinery ?
  3. Just tell them like it is Matt, don't even give them room to think there is more involved. You know the official position and your the one doing the job
  4. 78kgs, Dean, your MEWP keeps you in tip top form
  5. It's not the cutters it's the nonsense that goes above them. I have an LV coming off a 33kv line that feeds my house and only one other lol, the neighbors bushes are in the LV line and keep popping the fuse on the pole outside my house. The neighbor complained to Scottish Power, Scottish Power got onto WCE, WCE got on to Ed who looked at the job and reported back to WCE who reported back to Scottish Power. Scottish Power want to card the properties even though i live here and work for Ed and I can speak to the neighbor ! Now it's being done as a shut down when it's an hours work live. Far to many cooks ! Matt Ed will know the score but he's off ill at the moment.

    I'm telling on you lol

    AA

Completely and utterly agree with all of that. Also look at CHAS and Constructionline. AA Approved contractor scheme help with local authority framework agreements as there is such a long history between LA's and AAC scheme. It is still (wrongly) viewed as a bench mark for these agreements. It also help with domestic work as more people than you think are familiar with the logo having seen it on adverts in the Yellow Pages etc. When it comes to commercial work, 95% of the time when you say you are an a AA Approved contractor they will look at you blankly. It means nothing to most of the construction industry and facilities management companies. I hope that these proposed reforms in 2011 have some impact on the scheme.
  8. I did wonder why you were in Scotland from Staffs. That would explain it lol:thumbdown:
  9. Just looking into this in detail now. I've only heard good things TBH.
  10. Stevie, PM me your email address and I'll send you one over tomorrow when I get in.
  11. Still nice to see on still working on Commercial sites ! I spent 4 months waggling the levers on one back in the Summer.
  12. Done, some interesting proposals there.
  13. Spot on and if you look at the recorded instances on the HSE website it makes for scary reading !
  14. AHS were going to import a couple of those and put a chipper on one with a donkey engine and tow a Jenz 560 with the other. SERIOUS money !!
  15. That's the impression I got from Mr McTree the other week ! Can you legally do your own kit ?
  16. Just link them here ? If you design one yourself what about liability ?
  17. Cool idea for problem solving. A timbermaster takes about 3 hours to setup depending on distances and then requires 1 man to operate and one to chocker.
  18. Horses, drain pipes, scouts and an Alstor... could be the most expensive firewood you've ever pulled off a hill LOL
  19. What has paranoia got to do with it ? I'm simply putting forward an alternative opinion ? I'll help anyone who calls me up for advice, there's a difference between that and posting hard earned experience online. There are plenty of extremely large and well thought of companies browsing this forum and you don't see them stepping in to threads like this. There is a reason for that no doubt ! My point is if you want a basic set of forms why not just start a sticky thread with links to the AA forms ? It's taking it beyond the basic I personally would have an issue with.
  20. Thanks for the pics mate, search in the pictures forum for a thread called 'The Lakes' our Timbermaster is up there working nearly all year round on conservation projects ! What sort of tonnage can you get out in a day working it commercially ?
  21. We got them fitted today mate ta Ref. Timber PM me as it's all coming online now.
