  1. Suprised they were out today. VOSA only come out of hibernation May - september round here! LOL
  2. Don't want to dissapoint you but the series started last week!
  3. I'm not stirring or anything. I'm asking out of curiosity, If your stock piling chip then selling it to the likes of jenkins how do you stand with Environment agency Legislation?
  4. Well I'm gutted!
  5. When was your transit registerd? You may be able to have a analouge tacho fitted which can be cheaper. Benefits well no not really other than if you are towing commercially and get stopped and are not using a tacho you could be prosecuted!
  6. That very much depends if your having it fitted to a new or old vehicle. If your vehicle was registered before the 1st of May 2006 you can still have an Analouge Tacho fitted. I know as my mate fits em day in day out! After May 06 you must have digi.
  7. Yep they do. thats what I mean by a hilift jack,
  8. LOL! no we arn't going there!
  9. Agreed its certainly one of the easier courses I've attended!
  10. You've taken things very literally! I enjoy using wedges but I allways have a the big jack on the truck only used it once but its there.. and if I know it won't go with a wedge I'd use it. I also keep two sledge hammers plus the spare shaft on the motor. But then I also have another weapon in my armoury the winch and seeing as I don't work in gardens i can winch most big stuff over that could be jacked.
  11. Your right of course, I just have a passion for using big hammers! LOL but yep I'd use the highlift jack.
  12. We used a highlift jack once when we got in a sticky situation. Your right jacks are easy, but thumping a highlift wedge with a huge hammer is great stress relief!
  13. So thats changed then! LOL! we wern't even allowed it for that!
  14. I'm not doubting it could well have changed again! LOL, but when I did CS31 wedges were not listed we had a detailed kit list of what we had to take. we took wedges and were clearly told we wouldn't be using them until CS32!
  15. Tells you the cost on their web site, I did it once when I worked for a local CC, then I moved to another company who insist on all new employees resiting all their qualifications so they know they are trained to their standards. I didn't mind I wasn't paying!
  16. Wedges were not on the list when I redid CS31 last year. Only a felling lever, intersetingly we were encouraged to do conventional felling cut & Leaning dog tooth fell, and then explain the split level to the asseor by the instructor on the course.
  17. I've done mine twice, with different companies. Both training organisations will be a bit of a travel for you but its a start, Rand training Near Lincoln. Abbey Training Shrewsbury. There must be some one nearer to you though. Edited to add this link http://sites.stocksphere.com/citrus_training/content.asp?itemid=33&009=1 says they have a south east training centre Hope it helps
  18. Agree with the above, I have a stihl hi-lift wedge its a year old now and still good. I drive mine in with the fencing maul, The wooden bit can be bought seperatley for a few quid.

    Stihl

My MS260 came as .325" as standard.
  20. Come on then then lets have them! - Your daft questions that is! Nice to see you on here mate
  21. Towing is a different ball game again! If the combined weight of vehicle and trailer gross over 3.5ton then yep a tacho is required if the vehicle and trailer are used for commercial business. I'm about to fit one in the 130.
  22. If you sold it 8 years ago you probablly ok. But yep now anything over 3.5ton needs tacho and 'O' Licence
  23. Oi McNicol!! you can't go defecting! thought you were converted to the green oval! I don't think there is the right vehicle totally. Charlie is right about the Land rover approach, but I'd have a 130 as it grosses at 3500kg a 110 grosses at 3050kg. Here's some pics of a 130 DC http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2000-130-Td5-Double-Cab-Tipper-Dropside-1-owner_W0QQitemZ300191287815QQihZ020QQcategoryZ29748QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem If your only off road ocassionally just with kit, I'd go down 3.5/7.5tonner route then buy a quad and trailer.
  24. Ed, keep us posted that could solve a lot of my problems!
  25. I was pulled into a VOsa roadside check on the A5, wasn't overloaded, had tank dipped and a plesent chat with an old boy from the local constabulary.
