  1. All saws weigh the same once theyre in the cut.....
  2. Horse box, camper van, classic/vintage lorry or motor sport transport/workshop. For instance.
  3. The terms of a restricted licence are nothing to do with the size of the company, it the way the vehicles are used. For instance an owner driver engaged in haulage work would need a full o licence, but a large company who only use their trucks to transport their own goods wouldn't. You specify the arrangements for maintenance, then they tell you if your proposal is acceptable or not. You could do the inspections yourself, if you have the relevant qualifications or experience and facilities to do the work. There is a table to help you work out the frequency of inspections, mileage on one side and type of work on the other. Somewhere between 4 and 12 weeks depending on what you decide is appropriate.
  4. You only have to read the GV79 guidance notes to find that out.
  5. Is your main business activity agriculture or forestry?
  6. Slightly different scenario, the road from Littleport to Welney near me is often officially closed all winter, but some days you can drive through and its just a few cm deep, other times it can be 2 metres under. So officially closed but it may well be passable at the driver's discretion.
  7. Do you need chainsaw trousers to use a pair of loppers? Lovely little machines, got one of my own though, so I shan't be needing to hire one unless I have a big job and want two. (Then we could have races )
  8. Or get a groundie to walk ahead and check the terrain.
  9. If you meant front wheel drive, then I wouldnt bother for tree work.
  10. Always a good selection at the Cheffins auction. Cheffins - Unsold Lots - 12th November 2012
  11. They do hold their money well, if its looked after you cant really go wrong.
  12. Just bought one for my groundie, no complaints so far.
  13. O rig also works well without spliced eyes.
  14. If company policy is no non ce marked splices then making one is damaging the rope, especially as it will only be cut off come loler time. Anyways this is getting off the original point of the thread a bit.
  15. Tie the bowline long and it won't interfere with the hitch too much, and larks foot the biner on to the bowline if possible to keep it aligned. Still not as good as a spliced eye though.
  16. Not sure I get your point Andy?
  17. In that case I'm surprised you didn't get a bill for damaging your employers kit.....
  18. Just cut them off without asking? I'd be sending him a bill.
  19. They dont like being run flat, sounds like you need to charge it more often. Trickle charge off the towing vehicle is the easiest way.
  20. You will need some pretty heavy duty cable to run the motor, at least 50mm2, and you'll need about 20 metres of it to get from your truck battery to the trailer. That plus a decent fuse and some conduit will set you back about £150, probably cheaper to buy a new battery. Easy enough job to do though.
  21. Just blown around, not off.
  22. Peter

    088 woes!

I think he meant the cylinder is AWOL, even you couldn't redeem a non existent cylinder!
  23. http://www.fsb.org.uk/rates Less than my annual bank charges with hbos.
  24. Co-operative FSB account, yes all day to day transactions are free.
  25. I can do a tool box too, there are a couple of different options for secure tool storage.
