  3. If I get one I'll post a pic! Anway, if i save £50 on the tree i can spend an extra £50 on presents to go under it.
  4. So you are into sheep then. I did wonder with you being in wales and all.
  5. I'm planning on using the top out of a leylandii, hopefully there will be a good specimen to top next week.
  6. You're never too young to embrace retirement, and the delights of being a kept man. After all, when you're old enough to officially retire, you'll be too old and knackered to enjoy it!
  7. There are a number of tree firms around the Stockport area, but as you say its pretty slow for everyone. Do you have a pre-98 or better still, an HGV licence? You may be able to get odd days here and there, but I think you will struggle to find full time work with a tree surgery company. There is railway work around, based in Stalybridge.
  8. Ah, then I suggest you invest in a good quality pipe and slippers, and have the Telegraph delivered every day. That takes you up to lunchtime, then a gentle stroll in the afternoon, to the pub, getting home just in time for her to cook you a delicious dinner. Thats what I'm aiming for.
  9. I dont care how good looking she is, I wouldnt swop N Wales for Stockport. Tell her to move down there!

I know someone that put one on a TD5 90, power was up but you really had to boot it to get the best, wouldnt pull away in first on tickover, and fuel economy dropped to about 15 mpg.
  11. I should be ok for the 20th, but I definately cant make the 13th as I will be sleeping off a hangover in a remote wood in Lincolnshire.
  12. You mean no dead customers have rung up to complain yet?
  13. If i was buying brand new i might consider a landy, apparently the newest ones are almost like real cars. Secondhand, wouldnt touch one with a bargepole, unless i wanted a project!

  15. I wouldnt retrain to be a tree officer, from being a self employed subbie. Have you seen the pittance they get paid?

    What Saw

No no, I'm still waiting, I'm merely encouraging everyone else to buy one so I can get a locker sooner!

    Teabaggin'

Tea made with tepid flask water is revolting.
  18. Thats great if you start at 18, and spend 10 years or more doing the above. For someone who is retraining they may not have time to go the long haul route.

  21. I should imagine he started a knotweed removal company soon afterwards, and is now a millionaire, living in luxury surrounded by nubile young women. Doesnt sound quite so idiotic, come to think of it.......
  22. According my log weight chart, (cottonwood) weighs in at 785kg per m3
  23. Very well. I made a load of toadstools from alder this year, and burnt all the offcuts. Burns hot and clean.
  24. Have you considered alder?
  25. There are no uk importers or distributors at present, and the makers cant really sell it to the uk market as it does not have CE. Therefore as I understand it the only way to get some is to buy it in NZ.
