  1. Now that's a good point about defective gear accidents, before and after LOLER checks came in. But I think that is what LOLER is about, records of equipment use, before LOLER there were no equipment records apart from maybe receipt of sale but that wouldn't really tell you much anyway. I droned on about this very subject on another forum, I questioned defective kit causing accidents, instead I steered the blame towards bad pricing of work, inexperience of employees made to carry out that work and also, probably the most obvious, good old human error. Now, please shoot me down.
  2. Thank's Treebogan, price Steve. 266.10 Euros. Drayer site. http://www.drayer.de/shopfactory_deutsch/index.html
  3. I used to do the same thing, but was told to ditch the biner, which I did, I switched to a small mallion. Now I just use a standard Elderid friction saver without the pulley. I like a little bit of friction.
  4. Anybody used one of these? Drayer supply it on it's own or part of a reasonably priced lowering kit.
  5. The ledgend is dead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-PKx2GlC7U&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg9Hrp0CVms&feature=related
  6. Not fitted on euro models I believe.
  7. Days wages for Steve!
  8. Reg you rule! Camera work very good, especially that shot that follows the crane. Very nice work. Radiohead on the sounds, so sweet.
  9. Er, yeah.
  10. Here's one, my friend Meg, her brother in the states.
  11. That chains blunt.
  12. Did you give the guy who raised the issue a firm punch in the throat?
  13. Nice skyhuck, has that chute ever got bloked?
  14. I am just watching it again, love those shots that pan back, shows how silly high that tree was.
  15. My Bosky shirt is wearing well and I have to admit, pretty damn cool looking!
  16. I second that.
  17. Thanks Butch, I really should go to the Buzz more.
  18. Come on Angus, give us some more details.
  19. These are great gloves, fantastic grip very close fitting so they don't snag, trouble is they are pricey and really don't last very long but they really are great for climbing, my mate can get these from a guy who works for a well known aircraft component manufacturing company, they get issued with a pair a day, so he keeps the old pairs for my mate. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=https://is1.eporia.com/company_79/36194.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.nationalsafetyinc.com/product.asp%3FProduct_Id%3D34664%26d_Id%3D9325%26l1%3D9325%26l2%3D&h=323&w=450&sz=39&hl=en&start=9&um=1&tbnid=61yxaH4yToRrgM:&tbnh=91&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dansell%2Bgloves%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
  20. Welcome Ellie.
  21. Yeah, but I did use it and my pulley on the lower stuff, the higher branches were just a little suspect.
  22. It's almost as if you read my mind.
  23. My good friend Pete was lucky enough to meet Graeme, nice to see a hardcore aussie climber in action.
  24. I didn't bother rigging that side as you could see it moving around as I climbed it, the other side however, despite being in a state I did rig, no pulleys though as that would have put too much strain on it, instead I ran the rope around the trunk and around two limbs to spread the load.
  25. Well, you made that look like a piece of cake. Very nice.
