  1. Bowline on a bight with a stick in.
  2. Good thinking!
  3. I fully agree with you Reg, I have High Climbers and Timber Fallers and it's really a great book, I have yet to get the Fundamentals of General Tree work but will and look forward to reading it. Gerry is a cool bloke.
  4. It could be a job for life, they have some lovely work and it's not as if they are under any commercial pressure. The money is bad for the smoke but maybe you could get a bar job on the side?
  5. Ahh, I am not saying I would like to be a AA approved climber, I was just curious whether you could be is all. AA Tech cert, moi? You have too know something about trees to do that, I just cut them.
  6. I had the same problem last night using IE, I switched to Firefox managed to load them but not without problems.
  7. These I pinched from the Treehouse. Just incredible stuff from over the pond. :):)
  8. Is it possible to become a AA approved climber?
  9. Mr Tee did the far tree, I did the other two. So sue us. 1st pic, before. 2nd pic, noon. 3rd pic, about 3pm, finish.
  10. I have only had one job called off because of rain and that was years ago dismantling some big Beech trees in Bath university, the top Arb consultant I worked for at the time turned up and told us to call it a day. Worked today with Mr tee on those Limes, slippy, worked Friday also rain, rain then snow to finish the day off.
  11. Yeah Ive seen them before.
  12. Hmm, If I did try to command that kind of money all the time I would be sat on my arse at home or I would just get big, crappy, hard, horrible work. I work four days a week (One off for looking after boy) and am never out of work, touch wood. Oh and Paul, topper and lopper yes but expert?
  13. OK, the Treespyder posted this site on the Treehouse a long time ago, I have been using it today to try to sort out some problems with my PC. It maybe useful to some of you members here. http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm
  14. If you want I can take a 200t carb apart and take some pictures?
  15. Knock the burrs off the cutting tooth after sharpening with the wooden handle of your file.
  16. I got this information from a very clued up guy via A PM. Just to answer your query, stitching specifications are as per the manufacture, stitch pattern varies along with fibers used, invariably they are a synthetic fiber and some (not all) will choose a fiber with a melting point greater than 195 'Degree C'. The 195 dC is the minimum melting temp for rope fibers used when tested for certification under EN1891. Terminations when tested must be able to sustain a force of 15kn (Type A rope) and 12kn (Type B rope), for a period of 3 min.
  17. I was never a great fan of them, they used to fly out of trees OK though.
  18. I have two 020t's love them.
  19. Muse fecking rock and Radiohead? I will find a way over the fence if they are playing. Piffle? Maybe it has lost that dangerous edge but I won't miss the thieves.
  20. There has always been a fence that goes three miles around the site but it was easy to climb or go under or break through, (Somebody smashed a whole section off it down one year with a vehicle) there used to be organized gangs getting people through, the security was hopeless and were often involved with the scams. It's all changed now, the fence is very, very tall and super smooth and the security actually keep people without tickets, out.
  21. You have too sign up online from 9am the first of February until midnight Friday 29 February or complete a registration form that you obtain from any Millets camping store, registering however will not guarantee you a ticket just entitle you to a place in the draw. Online sign up, http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk
  22. Last year was the first year in a long time I didn't bother going, even on a Sunday with the kids. But who knows, I may have to enter the ticket lottery. Gone are the days when I used to jump/go under the fence.
  23. Class! That's it for this year? I think there will be more to come from you, you have the bug:)
  24. I walked into my old chiropractor but didn't walk out. But some people swear by them, I prefer the other option, did you ever see that Simpson's episode when Homer became a chiropractor?
  25. How is this done, Industrial machine? What type of twine is used and how many stiches are needed?
