  3. That define you as competent? I'm not looking for a subjective answer suck as Kev's, I can come up with plenty myself. I need a definitive answer i.e. Who can and who can't........
  4. Taken from AFAG 401 ; Tree climbing operations Splices should be made by someone competent to splice, eg the manufacturer. Competence should be demonstrable for each rope type. How would you define competence in this situation?

  6. I strongly disagree with you on the safety issue, although the wire does act as a keeper it also has a more important function. The wire acts as a spring holding the cam against the line. So when you lean back onto the system is grabs reliably. Without it you could find yourself fallind backwards until you hit your stopper knot. Not pleasant or safe IMO

  22. I have had a pair for 6 months now. Comfortable, light, good with spikes yes. Durable, I don't know. If they last the year, i'd buy another pair, but i could not see them outlasting klima airs.
