  6. Perhaps he was thinking of the early entecs, those things didn’t like deadwood at all 😀
  7. Make sure you stick your head inside the hedge and have a proper look. A picture from the outside rarely tells the whole story. Also don't get caught out on the width of the hedge.
  8. No, a hedge trimmer wont be enough. In fact you could potentially be looking at heavy timber in the middle, if for example it was previously a 30ft leylandii hedge and had been cut down to 15ft previously. More info required.

  10. Not familiar with the lanyard rope but from the image it appears it might be quite a firm rope? I know the hitch cord certainly is. general rule of thumb is to use a soft hitch cord with a firm role and vice versa. it all being new doesn’t help though either.

  17. Agreed to a point. Some freelancers aren't cut out for running a tree business though and are happy just freelancing. I know I fell into that category.
  18. I had a really interesting photo a few years ago. I removed some old Beech trees that had been spiked on many years previously. Cut a cross section of the wound out of it, sanded it and oiled it to expose the grain and damage better. Alas I am pretty crap at documenting my photos and dont have it any more.
  19. Doing well! Thanks for following up, most don't bother.
