  5. Not used the new model but it’s completely different to the original Robin. incidentally I still have a Robin. Been in the shop a few times over the years but it’s still the best hedge cutter out there IMO
  6. But that’s the only time the bottom half of his 30m climbing rope gets out of the bag for a breather
  7. Echo is a fine choice for hedge cutters

  12. Perhaps he was thinking of the early entecs, those things didn’t like deadwood at all 😀
  13. Make sure you stick your head inside the hedge and have a proper look. A picture from the outside rarely tells the whole story. Also don't get caught out on the width of the hedge.
  14. No, a hedge trimmer wont be enough. In fact you could potentially be looking at heavy timber in the middle, if for example it was previously a 30ft leylandii hedge and had been cut down to 15ft previously. More info required.

  16. Not familiar with the lanyard rope but from the image it appears it might be quite a firm rope? I know the hitch cord certainly is. general rule of thumb is to use a soft hitch cord with a firm role and vice versa. it all being new doesn’t help though either.
  17. Your'e running the rigging rope on the outside rather than through the ring?
  18. No you can’t. I can sort out access to your other account later
  19. Skip huh 😀 i think everyone of a certain age had a pair of electricity board spikes at one time of other
  20. Climbed on geckos for years and they are super comfy. More recently I’ve been having a play with the panther carbon spikes. These ones are actually adjustable unlike my geckos

  22. Something certainly has to change, it’s a job to see where it’s all heading not good news for ev drivers though Electric cars will be more expensive to run than petrol APPLE.NEWS Cost of travelling long distances will be much higher under the new price cap
  23. Agreed to a point. Some freelancers aren't cut out for running a tree business though and are happy just freelancing. I know I fell into that category.
  24. I had a really interesting photo a few years ago. I removed some old Beech trees that had been spiked on many years previously. Cut a cross section of the wound out of it, sanded it and oiled it to expose the grain and damage better. Alas I am pretty crap at documenting my photos and dont have it any more.
