  1. top ties, and several redirects at one point. Not really a case of it 'clicking', I understood it from the start, I just don't happen to think its a good system in general. For this tree though it worked. Probably would have done it just as quick with Ddrt though still
  2. As long as the prussik is rated high enough I can't see a problem with it
  3. Ok. Well basically because it had such a dense canopy. I was able to just go wherever I wanted then install static redirects
  4. 1.5m reduction on this holm oak today. Was a bit of a lopsided tree particularly when looking from one direction. Was pretty happy how it came out all things considered. Used srt for this and actually found it quite beneficial
  5. I tried to visualise my favourite tescos girl waiting for me at her checkout with no queue, turns out she wasn't even there at all, what did I do wrong? Seriously though I'm all for positive thinking, it does make a difference and does help you succeed, and not just because you're thinking positively. People you deal with will pick up on your general demeanour. Personally I don't enjoy being in the company of negative pessimistic people. That's just one example of how it makes a difference
  6. not that I noticed, it was brand new
  7. Oh, and about that. The second cable was a dyneema cable which we were told had a higher breaking strain than the steel cable....it snapped within seconds literally. The Steel cable we were using first was old, and failure was expected. Anyone else had experience with dyneema for winching?
  8. Another long term issue that only seems to affect some people. Can't replicate it my end which is very frustrating. Problem will hopefully disappear when the new site goes live
  9. I get that message too. I have deleted and reinstalled the plug in on the forum a dozen times and still get that message. No features seem to be missing though so just ignore it.
  10. Spent all day fishing a 70ft ivy infested fallen alder from a stagnant drink, ran into numerous problems including 2 snapped winch cables and the obligatory jammed saw on a couple occasions
  11. cherry should respond ok in my experience, a bit more time needed perhaps
  12. How about just upgrading to a 461?
  13. do you have the regular gaffs or the eagle claw european style gaffs?
  14. i'll check the brand tomorrow. got a box full of 500 on ebay a few years ago, think they will last me a while. They are 37 snr, better protection than any of the ear defenders currently on the market you wont go back to muffs after switching!!!
  15. Stored empty Barry In me experience, machines with carb issues will start, they just wont run? So having the cap loose has noting to do with this do you think? Just to confirm, this is a stihl 4 stroke strimmer and not a stihl 4 mix
  16. *cough* ear plugs and glasses *cough*
  17. Been self employed for 9 years now, and yes its a constant worry. My general mood varies in accordance with my bank balance. But over time i've learned to deal with it. Someone once said to me 'money can always be earn't', and that stuck with me.
  18. petzl elios here. But as a glasses and ear plugs wear the choice is far simpler, I just have to pick the lightest helmet on the market(which also looks ok)
  19. i've done this so many times with all sorts of different meats. You just cannot emulate this in a conventional over, its superb
