  4. No not at all. It was sore for a few weeks and it’s the only time I’ve been to the doctors for a thorn removal. My dad had a bit of a dig about with no luck(missus wouldn’t touch it), as it happens the nurse didn’t want to touch it if it weren’t necessary as it was so close to the spine, so there it stayed. had it been blackthorn it would have been more of a concern
  5. Forgive the newbie question but its been probably 10 years since I submitted a form for a conservation area. How is this handled now, direct through the local authority or through the planning portal?
  6. Yep all you can do is wait. Did you get the thorn out? I still have one in my back from a few years ago
  7. I thought these were only available to dealers
  8. Yep thats always annoying, but then again thats their job and what they are there for.
  9. Some nice stuff on that site! Anyone know what this bumper is? All part of the winch?
  10. plenty of times! The smaller cords you have to be particularly careful with also. Not done many comp climbs but the couple I did do I burned through the cord in a single climb. It doesn't take many quick descents
  11. It was, surprised I haven't come across that little gem before
  12. Nylon has a much lower melting point than poly so should be doubly cautious
  13. 1. absolutely not. Rope on rope should be avoided at all costs. Do you have an photo of the set up? I'm sure there would be a quick and easy solution that wouldn't cost them much money. What sort of rope are they using, poly or nylon? 2. Show them this
  14. Can't remember the exact models. Where are you based? The company I used for one particular job actually came out for a site visit and advised on the best machine
  15. I've used lifts in plenty of graveyards in the past and its always a big concern. You never really know where an old grave might be, particularly in very old church yards. I certainly wouldn't rely on standard pads, at the least they should sit on top of a think ply sheet. Tracking around will also be a concern though. Are ground mats feasible? How high are the branches? Are ladders and poles an option?
  16. what is it? a back support?
  17. 2 points of attachement even if not cutting? That’s ludicrous and unworkable
