  1. Ouch! Is that blackthorn?
  2. Sounds horrendous. I never realised the uk had such evil plants. I’m on day 10 afte the jab and the finger still feels broken. What do you do to calm it down? Just wait?
  3. I’ve had a weeks course of that 4x 500mg. It’s killed the infection just left a bruised stiff swollen knuckle. Proper pain in the arse (finger haha)
  4. Well good luck. I advise not ignoring it and pretending it's gone away if it hasn't or keeps coming back for bit. Hope it gets well fast Cheers, I def won’t ignore it, it bloody kills ?. The doc said it should settle down but I’m not sure he was on the same page as me when it comes to this type of injury. If it doesn’t go down in a week or so or if the infection comes back then I’ll be straight there. I’m not one to be a marytr lol
  5. Agreed. I don’t take them for the sake of it. The doctor looked at it and because it was red, hot and solid he said it needed them. I wasn’t gonna argue haha. Just hoping it will settle on it’s own now. If not I’ll go back and get them to have an explore inside.
  6. What is it then Felix? I’ve never heard of that sulphate stuff? I’m being thick aren’t I haha
  7. Does the one in your back still play up?
  8. Cheers Steve, Yeah I got it all out. It went through the glove. First experience of this as I normally work with paving not bushes and trees haha.

  10. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. 10 days ago whilst pruning a bush I got a thorn go into my middle knuckle of my idex finger. I pulled it out and washed the tiny puncture. Within an hour it was swollen and stiff. I went to a&e the next morning and was given a course of anti biotics in case it went bad. Once they were complete (after 7 days) it is still swollen and bruised. A repeat visit to the doctors came yesterday and I was advised it could take a while to subside. Has anyone else experienced this and if so any advice on what to do.....other than wait? It’s not infected but is mighty painful. I’ve attached a pic of the offending bush. Thanks in advance Billy
