  1. they are worth their weight in gold.....the single best investment ive made in climbing gear in the past 2 years. they do get stuck like any cambium saver...you gotta be picky with your placement. if im in doubt i'll normally retrieve it half way down and re-anchor so i dont have to go all the way back up should it get stuck. but the way i see it, in the meantime it makes my climbing 100% more enjoyable, if i have to go up the odd time to retreive it so be it
  2. quite often wood cracks like that during the takedown procedure....particularly noticeable with sycamores, you can usually hear them crack and open up whilst ringing down

  4. i can fix that for ya ditch that blakes hitch you're using and treat yourself to a nice ropeguide
  5. its good to never trust your gear 100% that way you constantly check stuff.

  7. nope.....it was a bit awkward really because the old cuts were all over the place...ideally i would have liked more time on it, i wasnt happy at all with the finished result....it really needed more time spent to restore the shape properly.
  8. this mornings job...multiple stem maple shed a stem in this weeks winds....this tree is located at a regular customer and we've had our eye on it for a while now...was no surprise it came down, and they had been warned!

  14. i personally dont think the chainsaw trousers suit her.....a thong and leggings would be far more appropriate
  15. the bark was nowhere near the right colour to be a common walnut...and the form was wrong. i could be wrong, but im 99% sure its not a common walnut
  16. cant really tell from the pic....you'll never fell it with that hedge trimmer though!
  17. I think this may be a variety of walnut but dont know for sure and which. photos arent great, partly due to the light and plus the trees in decline which didnt give any great shots of the foliage
  18. i have them....wether or not they are needed to work safely is another matter
  19. i paid £4600 for mine about 4 years ago....i think now they are somewhere between 7-8k. Mike will confirm the price as he deals in them!
