Erecting TPO Site Notices

Who is responsible for putting up the notices?

 

I have done hundreds and never been asked to put up a notice. I had a laminated sheet sent to me today and was told to display in a prominent position at the site.. This particular site is miles away but even if it was local the last thing i need is extra faff for TPO'd trees..

 

When I informed the TO they have said it is normal practice for the contractor to erect the signs..

 

So is it?

They're having a laugh! It's part of the LA task to post the notice at the site.

 

Send them an invoice in return perhaps?

I was sent one of those a while ago and just dropped in the past to the client with the covering letter. As Ed said though, there is no requirement to notify. Its certainly not standard practice.

Cant see thee being a need to post notice that a tree is TPOed . Notice of proposed works on the tree , may be , but if the TO has agreed work then thats that and san fairy ann .

It is that way when working in amber valley Ben. You could always post it to the home owner to save a journey out.

It's not a legal requirement, I just bin them.

Yes it is Amber Valley. I could post it, but it's just another thing to do. I am probably doing 2 or 3 TPO/conservation area notices a week, most are pointless wastes of time anyway as I will normally specifying works the TO will agree with. In this case the TO has been out onsite and told the client what he should apply to do...

 

I have also been getting the completion certificates.... Which I also forget to send.

OR, you could post the notice on the tree...with one of your business cards underneath
