Congrats to you pal, ive got a 7 month son, and a 3 year old. The youngest was exactly the same, he had acid reflux, took gaviscon etc. Both had colic as said above. Try colief. Worked wonders with both my lads. Quite dear at 12.00 a bottle but you can get it on prescription ( after trying gaviscon as Dr's are tight as) it is hard pal, try and get a nap if travelling and not driving. Your in the zombie zone atm [emoji3] it'll pass soon ( hopefully) - all the best

Both of ours had reflux and a dairy allergy, Karl is right, doctors are tight, if gaviscon doesn't work push for omeprazol, you can get it in liquid form but it is expensive so doctors dont like to prescribe it. I hope for your little ones sake it isn't.

I coped on that amount of sleep for about 4 years, it's tough but just hang in there.

It's tough but that part does get easier. When our little girl was bird (my second) she would scream all night with no let up and then sleep during the day. It put a hell of a lot of strain on mine and my girlfriends relationship too. But try as many different colic remedies as you can, something should work. Get as much rest on the weekends as possible and remember your partner is in the same boat so try and stay calm with her as well, praise her as much as you can (no doubt you do already).

It's bloody tough but it gets easier I promise and you'll look back on it and think it hardly lasted any time in the future.

She is now just over three weeks old. Our first was so content that although hard was fairly Easy. Our second totally different. I will try not to compare but all she does is cry all the time. If she isn't asleep its just tears constantly. My wife and I are both at our wits end. The problem is my wife says go to bed you have work and let me sort things, which is good of her, but I see no difference in staying awake listening to her scream or try and help.

 

I'm actually getting to breaking point. Trying to do arb work on 3/4 hours sleep a night is going to catch up on me

 

So does anybody have any tips.

 

I'm thinking about organising a snip party. I've done my bit for humanity so time to get me to the vets I think.

 

 

Sounds like colic to me. Had the same with our son. Screamed constantly until he was 3-4 month old. Best thing I found was either leave a Hoover running in the room or this soundtrack (YouTube link below) it works best if very loud near the baby. If the sample works there's an hour long version you can buy. Worth every penny! Although hearing it again just now brings it all back as was on repeat in our house for weeks!!

We had that same introduction to our kiddy. Hours and hours of relentless crying. The crying is them wanting something. In our case, and after being seen attempting to cope at our SureStart centre, it turned out we were rubbish at winding them and weren't feeding him enough. Overnight change. You can overcome this!

If you believe in alternative medicine then try cranial manipulation from an oesteopath.

It's worked for friends of ours even though it's not a proven treatment.

More likely to be collic though.

Our boy is now 3 months old and is super calm.

Even so I sleep apart.

Daughter is 26 months and prone to nightmares and prolonged night time crying sessions.

That however is linked to whatever she did/saw during the day.

You're not alone mate. The fact that you've reached out says to me you're having a rough time.

Support networks are good as well. Ie people in the same boat. Where do you live?

You can get a white noise sound on your phone which sounds like when there is nothing to watch on the tv my wife tried it and seemed to work for a bit but then found out it was colic so difficult when there that young as they can't tell you the problem but it's still early days and hopefully things will settle down for you.
