on average the yellow bags weigh 250k each & we get 7 per load witch = 1750k off split logs .not as much as i thought it would weigh

I worked out that 2cu metres loose in truck has cost me £56 in cordwood at £40 a tonne. Another £16 for labour to help cut it up. £6 for petrol in splitter and chainsaw £5 for red diesel. £4 for white diesel up to 10 miles. A bit more for wear and depreciation on plant and vehicles and chain oil lets say £6.

 

So Far thats £93 assumming I did not buy anything inc wood on finance.

 

I charge £145 for 2 cu metres tipped inc vat

 

Now to finish processing and deliver 11/2 - 2 hrs I end up with about £50 if I do 4 in a day £200

 

If you get your wood free its worth looking at the above before selling your self short.

 

The other idea I had was to wait until all the cheap 'free' wood has gone in december then charge £90 a cu
