Imagine there was a huge boulder rolling down a steep cliff. At a particular place there is a split in the route which could take the boulder either way, and you have to stand in one of the two options (left or right).

 

Now you are fortunate and get time to consult geologists, motion specialists, particle physicists, and predictive moddlers. They combine all their expertise and experience and tell you that the evidence concludes there is a 97% chance the boulder will bounce to the right. You would have to be a fool with a death wish or completely insane to choose to stand in the right channel.

 

The only difference with rejecting the scientific concensus on global warming is that instead of yourself, you are putting your grandchild in the path of the boulder.

 

You are not qualified to take a punt on climate change and neither am I. We have to go with the science.

 

 

 

Please please watch this one. Even if you're dead set in your belief. If ever I saw a man evading an answer and forcing an agenda then it's in the video below. It stinks to high heaven

And, similar to yourself perhaps, albeit possibly in a different scenario, I was ‘up threat’ for 1 and then spend an unforgettable period post 2, on the ground in Umm Qasr and Baghdad for the post conflict reconstruction. I think we could have a very interesting conversation if the opportunity ever arose - there may not be so much between our opinions as might be supposed. 

 

Trump - I was keen at the election stage (given the alternative.). Has he delivered? That very much depends who you choose to listen to. Is he coming across as an unhinged, nutjob? Unquestionably! Will we look back and compare achievements of Obama and Trump objectively? Some might, I think more will however, be blinded by prejudice.
