Until you've spent time in the Middle East you don't realise what a tinderbox it is. Places like Saudi keep tensions in check by providing well paid jobs to locals. However if/ when the world stops using oil the Saudis won't be able to afford to give Saudis well paid jobs, when that happens you'll find the Middle East has millions of bored very angry young men that have a belief system that should terrify you.

Israel is the front line that defends the West...

I heard from some of the old regulars that had drunk there for years and years that the Brewery that owned the pub asked "4 pints" to come in and work the door as well, apparently they'd been having a lot of of trouble with a certain group of regulars. No one wanted to drink there anymore and the place was a right dive.
Apparently, business has picked up rather well, and they've done it up, in spite of it being in such a rough part of town. They still reckon it's best to stay out of the pool room on Saturday nights though.

We're in danger of skipping continents into a post colonial Empire / Apartheid comparison now....

Sunni and Shia Muslims have been fighting for the last 1400 years, they are fighting as they disagree with the succession of Muhammed. If they can't live in peace amongst themselves do you think they can live in peace with Israel?

No.

If Israel wasn't available as a common 'enemy', they'd be bashing lumps out of each other and the pub would be worse than before....

Many people already see it that way already. [emoji107]

Funnily enough, as I mentioned Orde Wingate earlier. Here is a quote from him from when he used to "drink in that pub."

"Nowadays people seem to imagine that impartiality means readiness to treat lies and truth the same, to hold white as bad as black and black as good as white. I, on the contrary, believe that without integrity a man had much better not approach a problem at all."

Maybe we should just accept that Islam is a culture that will continually pick fights with others...

Islam can't live in peace with jews in Israel. Islam can't live in peace with Hindus in India. Islam can't live in peace with Buddhists in Burma. Islam can't live in peace with Christians/atheists in the West... Islam can't even live in peace by itself.

No matter what we do many Muslims will hate us.

PROSCRIPTION OFFENCES

  • wear clothing or carry or display articles in public in such a way or in such circumstances as arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a member or supporter of the proscribed organisation

Leaves me to wonder....  Why exactly are we seeing AQ/IS associated flags displayed without immediate intervention to remove, arrest, charge and prosecute?

I assume this a rhetorical question?

And if you were on a form in many muslim countries and were told the west hates you and wants you dead, would you believe them?

Don't you think we are at least guilty of not helping ourselves and giving the wackjobs all the ammo they need?

So it's really our own fault that Muslims commit terrorist attacks against us? Really? What did the Yazidis do to get persecuted in Syria and Iraq?

The Manchester bomber's parents were asylum seekers from Libya that got asylum in Britain. The British provided military support to the Islamists (the bomber's father was a hardcore Islamist) to get rid of Gadaffi in Libya. Why did the Manchester bomber attack a music concert when we had done so much to help his family?

You really need to wake up and smell the coffee.

You clearly don't have the capacity to read and understand simple English and only see what you want to see.
