Mate, I've been over there and ran a marathon through Bethlehem raising money for 'Medical Aid for Palestinians'.

The sanctions put in place by the Israelies (In violation of UN Law) are nothing short of subhuman.

I don't agree with everything that Israel does, but I do think that the PA (the grand Mufti, Arafat and Abbas) and Hamas shoulder the brunt of the blame for the sorry mess of the ordinary Palestinians.

You only have to look at what is taught in Palestinian schools to understand why the misery is perpetuated.

The Palestinians are betrayed by their own leaders. Here's an interesting piece written by a Palestinian human rights activist. Personally, I think it speaks volumes about why no solution has been found.

:001_huh: So these immigrants you like?:001_huh:

The entire Middle East used to have a large Jewish population. Over time they were pushed out (ie persecuted) by muslims. There is something poetic about a muslim community complaining about being persecuted. It's like seeing a bully getting a kicking....

If you don't mind me jumping onboard with a supplementary Ti......

The Iranian Mullahs who directly sponsor and support the elements you mention above really shoulder the blame -  they have encouraged, facilitated, sustained and financed the delivery of terrorism and remain fundamentally opposed to any form of Palestinian "solution" (short of the end of Israel) regardless of the continued hardships endured by the people of Palestine.  In fact, the more suffering they endure, the more volatile the situation becomes which is exactly what Iran wants.  Iran is directly responsible for the hardship of the Palestinians.

S'right. But it's easier just to take the ages old view that it's the fault of the Jews.

"Nothing new under the sun" as a wise man once said.

Got to be honest I am rather ignorant to the whole Israel/Palestine conflict in the sense of I know nothing about the conflict or the history there but I have to say that is a scary graphic!

What's everyone drinking tonight?

Good call.:thumbup1:

Black sheep IPA for the next 10 mins or so.

No matter what our differences are I hope we can all agree how lucky we are to live in a country where we have the means and rights to argue and debate this sh1t.
