A representative of an Iranian Kurdish separatist group in Iraq says the group’s armed wing has launched attacks on Iran’s Revolutionary Guard...

Nothing good will come of more fighting. England and US have been messing up Iran since 1900's. Operation Ajax, to oust Mosaddegh - who was elected.. was a good example of what the US will do. All about oil and control, its not for the people, that is a huge lie.

Quote

In August 2013, the U.S. government formally acknowledged the U.S. role in the coup by releasing a bulk of previously classified government documents that show it was in charge of both the planning and the execution of the coup. According to American journalist Stephen Kinzer, the operation included false flag attacks, paid protesters, provocations, the bribing of Iranian politicians and high-ranking security and army officials, as well as pro-coup propaganda. The CIA is quoted as acknowledging the coup was carried out "under CIA direction" and "as an act of U.S. foreign policy, conceived and approved at the highest levels of government". In 2023, the CIA took credit for the coup

I believe they are using much the same approach today, stirring up unrest for their own benefit, not for the persian population.

Cause of the current protests - mostly as a result of the extreme US imposed sanctions.

Iran has good reasons not to like the US! Soon Denmark and Greenland will be in the same boat.

I think I read that one at the time, brave lad to do that (but maybe also young and stupid enough not to realise his own mortality?)

Yes, agreed he didn’t realise the gravity (no pun intended) of it, but the pompier trying to explain it to him and the father's reaction after and his despair before the rescue is so real.

This dates from 2013 but I don’t care.

A 3 year old falls down a well, and a skinny 14 year old volunteers to be lowered down to rescue the kid.

In a world increasingly full of Ai slop and computer generated bs here’s real emotion at play.

Seen it many times, never fails to move me.

Nice post.

I havent seen that before now, it is moving to say the least.

Didn’t the gazans already explicitly state Blair could have no part in this?

I don't normally allow myself to indulge in the personality's of politicians but this one infuriates me, how can a religious bigot be involved.

The word peace and Blair don’t normally go in the same sentence.

Another reason why reliance on other countries for energy through interconnectors and pipelines and a lack of base load capacity is not a great idea, as Germany found out, putting all your eggs in one basket ain’t a great idea.
Our much vaunted wind farms are easy to put out of action and incredibly hard to repair.

The way things are going, this country will be ruined from within  long before any Russian intervention.
