Point is from the article that was making the news yesterday, a short sentence that you take offence to (how easily offended are The Daily Mail readers!), that if you look at the numbers, there are many cities grubbier than Glasgow, your own Aberdeen being one of them! Glasgow is not a grubby city. If you can't hack that then yes, time to leave this part of the discussion.

Inverness with 3.83 rats per person!

Sorry Steven, need to pull you up on that.

You've not taken into consideration that it's the only city up there, so all the rats in the very north have to live there, not a true representation.

And Agnus knows all about how clean the close is in Dundee because her cousin Dot lives there and they talk every Tuesday afternoon on the phone.

Lol 😂 that’s you going on about this offence thing and mentioning the Daily Mail again 🤷‍♂️did they write something about you or Nicola that hurt you at some point.
Glasgow is without a doubt currently bloody filthy in particular the centre. Regarding Aberdeen I avoid going into the centre as much as is possible, yes it’s definitely going down hill too, Union street is being destroyed by poor management and utterly stupid car/ulez restrictions and now bus gates. By the way Aberdeen is not my city I’m from Alnwick in Northumberland ( beautiful part of the world with loads of rats but rats of the right colour “ great shooting”) I live NW of Aberdeen in the sticks with, again loads of upper class country rats with an insatiable appetite for eley subsonics.
Id hate to see how you live if you think Glasgow ain’t grubby

Again I’ll ask SNP supporter??

Well, what what about that then.... but grubby in the North East of England too!

Calls have been made for a further investigation into rat problems in Amble.

Christ you are actually getting excited about that ffs  😞

Could well be 🤷‍♂️the difference being is I never said it wasn’t. You’re desperate to hang onto and expand this rat ratio crap when it all boils down you to stating that Glasgow wasn’t grubby a few posts back.
I’ll ask again SNP supporter yes or no ?

I live in the countryside, one of the cats is a fantastic mouser, seems to eat a few per day. Often gets rabbits, and had a good few rats too.

Does that mean I have a high rat per person ratio, as she's managing to find them?

Or a low rat per person ratio, as she has now eaten them?!

Ooh, that's a good point, never thought about cats and rats.

Maybe need a catrat ratio as well? Is she a rat fat cat? (serious, fat from rats - lots of rats). She might just be a dead clever hunter.

Not sure I would mess with a cat if I was a small animal, my neighbours cats often take on the foxes and so far have always won.

(countryside rats of course are not eating left over chips and Greggs discarded by people generally)

Trying to emphasis that whatever is written in the press, particularly the local press doesn't necessarily reflect reality. The link above is from a syndicated press site - if I searched I would find a very similar article about many towns in the UK, copied and pasted (it is what that site does). If I wanted to write a news story about rats, get paid for the week, I could go to any city and ask 100 people "Have you ever seen a rat in the city", get a quote from the one or 2 who say yes, story made. Simples. Also works for stories about litter, walk down the street 20 minutes before the bin trucks collect the trade waste, take photos "Look at the litter strewn streets", another simple story made.

That is why I prefer to look at the numbers, much less subjective.
