I dunno pete if you read the lot and that account is what happened then the police are lucky they only got a few cars burnt... I don’t blame them for protesting the bill is total bollox... we are free only to be told what to do ?

If the account is true, then yes, they are lucky it didn't go further.

It’s not an Antifa article Mark, it’s from the Anachists Federation - who do, it seems, have a website. Which is a bit odd given their apparent objection to the sort of capitalist mechanisms that gave rise to the WWW and the ‘tech’ required to sustain it. I guess they are able to swallow large portions of their own blatant hypocrisy in order to draw the giro from the very institutions of ‘government’ they so vociferously opposed?

Who knows?

Each to their own 😁

Everyone's got a website it seems.

Am I even really seeing that?

The pacifist, docile, peaceful and reasonable behaviour of the attendees changed to lawlessness, destruction and violence because of Police intervention?

And you’re giving that angle bandwidth because that’s what is reported on an anarchist webpage...

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

There's two extremes to every coin.

Reality somewhere in between?

The overwhelming vast majority of outraged (but decent) folk popped off home as the sun set.

The hard core fwits (those that I originally highlighted) were intent on premeditated riot and lawlessness.

The hashtag for the amorphous mass that rallied here was “kill the bill.”  It would be grossly naive to assume that the double meaning of that wasn’t intentionally inflammatory.

What are the old bill meant to do? Watch?

Well if your having a peaceful protest and your getting dogs let loose on you and charged by mounted riot cavalry I would probably start throwing things too...In older age I have grown a respect for police but I won’t forget the times I was assaulted and charged for things I didn’t do because they didn’t like the way we looked or wanted us off the streets ... there’s good and bad in every part of society but I know for a fact and from first hand experience some coppers are bastards and the people that are at the top are more corrupt than some criminals as much as some anarchists are scum and are a total joke to every thing they believe and supposedly represent, but I do think and I can’t write off that there are good people on all fronts that are trying to make a difference for the right reasons and won’t ram there opinions down your throat or smash you over the head with a baton.

This is the rub, the government are going to force a bill through that will make peaceful protests all most impossible. The masses who caused no trouble and went home at sun set get ****************ed due to a few hundred rioters.

Or, the police escalated the situation knowing full well that it would agitate the populace.
