Well, we need to start somewhere, why not lead by example?

Fair point.....But this message needs to reach out a whole lot further than Europe. If it doesn't then it becomes kind of pointless. I reiterate China, India et all.

I agree that it needs more countries to participate in order to make more of a difference. Either way, we should be looking after our environment.

Would it be so bad to curtail our emissions and prioritise renewable energy etc., even if America, China et al didn't initially follow suit?
At least we'd have a nicer place to live in, while we watch the next generations starve of oxygen and/or die of thirst.

That's the sad bit.

Replied on quote. Have a good evening Sir. ?

Per capita, China is little worse than us and they are a major manufacturer which bumps up countries CO2 output. Also, they installing renewables at a far higher rate than most https://www.economicshelp.org/blog/10296/economics/top-co2-polluters-highest-per-capita/?fbclid=IwAR1vbrRwnJvnPTDTT7lsKR_LVkasQ68JqB2ZSjkeuPj6CXASKwq-kFvGQS0

Mmmmm, and maybe if carbon footprint was attributed to point of consumption rather than point of manufacture we’d have a more accurate (and uncomfortable) appreciation of the source of the problem....

These numbers are all a bit of a fudge. Again credit goes to Greta for outing some creative numbers https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-48025650

Aye, those muckle boats burn a stupid amount of fuel. image.png.a0a26f4fa78ee3895a0cb8df7b42fd12.png
Even so, little steps:

I think we all need to go as green as we can while keeping one foot in the reality bucket.

I'm sure if we got our heads together we could sort things out and still have time for macho stuff.

Sadly its going to be a long time before this sort of thing moves out of the canals & onto the high seas.

As for the big box boats - until the demand to ship 'stuff' around the world drops significantly these will continue to ply their trade. Most of the crap they have on board is only there because people have been persuaded by some marketing types hired by someone who wants to make loadsa money that we absolutely must have it, when we really need very little of it at all and what we do need is probably as easily provided locally.

Utterly disgusted with the lengths and depths the media will now go to outright lying about people who don't fit their narrative.

I'd find that journalist and beat him half to death and do the time gladly if that were me.
