"Signatories include the musicians Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church and Anoushka Shankar as well as Labour, Green and independent MPs including Kim Johnson, Ellie Chowns, Diane Abbott and Zarah Sultana."

Hardly a comprehensive list of grass roots Woman by any means.

Diane Abbot has to be the safest out of the lot.

Perhaps not, but it's a salient point. The right-wing tend to use "fear for our women & kids" as justification for their actions. That's a fact.

But that is a pertinent point.. likewise those making the most noise about asylum seekers on this forum live a long long way away from where they are housed, and form their opinions as far as I can tell from Farage, the Daily Mail, Linkedin and twatter, rather than going to find out what is happening in reality. It is the singular headlines that are reported here to try to alter opinions and never the complete picture... and those singular headlines are reported from a press with an agenda, with owners who have an agenda )and the agenda is usually make the press owners another billion).
