About twelve days ago Times journalist David Aronovitch tweeted, then after a backlash deleted the following

'If I was Biden I'd hurry up and have Trump murdered on the basis that he is a threat to America's security #SCOTUS'.

BBC radio presenter David Aaronovitch sparked anger after saying that US President Joe Biden should have Donald Trump 'murdered'.

In the context of US history these are relatively calm times, being alive during the Civil War would have upped the stakes of 'who's side are you on?'

He is pro second amendment as I’m sure you are aware.

My impression is Trumps support of pro gun mob is to help gain votes.

It is relevant that he's now been on the receiving end. A hunting rifle or self defence pistol us one thing, but the rapid fire weapons some NRA morons would gladly sell the public, the only good thing about them is the manufacturing and sales jobs they create

I wonder what the rhetoric here would be if Biden had has a snippet of an ear taken off. I don't wonder very hard though.

Anyway, news headline:

The shooter was a felon, thus prohibited from owning guns by federal law.

Those gun laws didn't work,do you want some more laws and restrictions in the hope they prevent nutters doing nutter things?

Trumph was targeted in a politically motivated attack, sadly other people apart from the shooter lost their lives.

i just cant see how it could be a good idea for the joe public to be walking around town with a gun !!!!

fair enough if your hunting, but picking the kids up from school??

it just seems like total insanity to me.

London is bad enough now, imagine if we had the same gun laws as US, regardless of fact shooter was felon, in a place where decent upstanding citizens can buy a WMD, more of these rapid fire toys will be within reach of felons and non offenders alike

Pure garbage, “ pro gun mob “  🤷‍♂️

He supports the second amendment it’s part of the constitution it’s as simple as that. You should maybe comment on the rhetoric that’s come from the left where putting trump in a bullseye or eliminating him at all costs has become commonplace.
