Making the news today....

As I kept explaining during our not infrequent Council Diversity training,

discrimination, or discernment is a positive thing and we all do it.

Audi or Lada(and used to be Skoda, remember the jokes?)

Iceland or M&S Foodhall

Because "brands" or indeed tribes gain reputations based on their defining  behavouirs, which reputations can be changed, subject to hysteresis.

However the reputation of travellers, pikies and other such caravan dwelling types is  irrevocably established.

In that respect Mr. Hitler was perhaps not entirely wrong in lining up certain groups of persons for the gas chambers.

Well I sort of like Hitler to be honest..  I'll doff my cap to a man who rose from FWW corporal to one of histories mega characters. but havin said that I said I'd let whoever wanted to pay respects to their loved ones no matter how distasteful we all might find them.

I might not be around to entertain you at two in the morning though, I have some work to do tomorrow if the weathers right..

Its not like I just like Hitler though is it, I sort of have some sneaking admiration for a lot of histories butchers.  Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Caesar and my own namesake Vespasian..

If you made your mark on history in a big way your on my list as far as I'm concerned..

Yes, go to the Jewish Church in Prague and see the thousands of names lining the walls that were transported to the camps.

Del Boy was a bit of a character, Hitler certainly wasn’t.

I take it you don't have the same sneaking admiration for Hitler that Vesp has then.

You’re very astute Eggs. :thumbup1:

Seeing row after row of names, floor to ceiling in that church was one of the most chilling experiences of my life.  The numbers are difficult to comprehend, but when you see the names....

My missus had to leave, she couldn’t bear to stay in the place. I can’t comprehend how anyone can admire or have any respect for the person behind such an evil thing.

Well, I don't know, its hard to engender any sympathy for a group of people who pay homage to a god who told his chosen people to murder ever man woman and child in Canaan...

Its like, well, if you're into that sort of thing how would you want it to happen to you..  or, now you know how the people of Canaan must of felt..  what goes around comes around...

Remember, what they accuse Hitler of doing, they give praise and pay homage to a god who did to the Canaanites what Hitler attempted to do to them.. they have no right to complain in that regards.. and neither do I have any sympathy for much the same reason..
