The trouble with those county's is that they start to float when in deepish water, so only used in still water such as harbour launches where the depth is easily judged.

Ocean swells will lift them off the sea bed.

If they were to 'ship a wave' they would fill up pretty quickly.

Yes that's right. Fun to watch when the tractor itself turns into a boat :lol:

Why on beach launches they use the tract one that I posted. Much heavier and will put up with a bigger swell.

Its a good dance to watch them all do it tho. :laugh1:

We like tractors that float so we bought a stalwart to go with the rest of our floating arb stuff. 5 Ton payload in the water and off road, currently awaiting a cummins diesel engine to replace the straight eight rolls petrol lump.

Spent hours reading this thread so I felt I ought to tack my little grey one onto the end. It's more of a play thing to be honest, but it does get used for the odd thing. I've rebuilt the back half entirely, new seals, bearings, brakes, reconditioned all the hydraulics etc. Engine rebuild is next, it runs fine but does blow a bit.

I'm not really planning to but you know how it is... most of the fun is in the tinkering and when it's finished, you start thinking 'now what?... something bigger?' :laugh1:
