Three rugby internationals in the Southern Hemisphere yesterday and, as far as I'm aware, not a single jot of trouble. Welsh fans intermingling with All Blacks fans before, during and after the game and I'd imagine the same in Brizzy with the English and Ozzies and the same in the republic. What is it with footy?

I have been to several internationals at HQ and never in all the years have I seen anything remotely like it . I have walked to and from the match with Scottish fans and drank with them . All we seemed to do was compliment each other on the respective teams good bits .

Same same. Been to several rugby matches and league matches here in NZ. Opposing fans arrive together and leave together. We're renowned for having alcohol issues in NZ yet we very very rarely have any issues at matches and even if we do, it's generally and isolated one on one rather than a full on pitched brawl. I have a feeling that these riots in France have been orchestrated between rival gangs prior to the tournament but still.............maybe time to bring the rubber bullets out.

Maybe it's left to supporters to provide the entertainment :001_tongue:

It does look like some Russian fans are partly to blame for last nights troubles.

BUTTTTT why are the English so often involved?

A lot of Brits (don't) grow up thinking that a REAL man goes to the pub and drinks a ton of beer then has to prove himself by throwing his weight around?

In my limited travels around Europe most of the people I've met think that all Englishmen are total pi55heads- it's all they ever see on TV.

There is a historical theory that the only time groups of Englishmen have travelled abroad has been for the purpose of war. The trouble makers just can't seem to let it go.

Not sure why its football that attracts them (maybe their mental limitations preclude them from understanding rugby) but it does.

I suggest that England be banned from all future tournaments (it's not as if we will ever win one again) and leave foreign travel to the more enlightened - once we have our visas

Hey now, in all these incidents England fans are provoked, now it's just coincidence that its always their followers provoked,

It is so unlucky that not one other nation seems to be as disliked as them,

Mmmmmmm strange that one.

And bloody strange that the rest of the world see to want to live here.....that I just don't understand but there again, I think I see the reasons:sneaky2:
