I read the first page and this last one, but my take on it is that c2 was too expensive and missed out (possibly been messed around, put it down to experience, move on, life is too short to sweat about dickhead messer customers who change their minds). C3 was appointed by C1 to do a job and now needs to get the money out of C1 (small claims, violence, whatever). The landowner/customer's agreement with C1 is irrelevant in terms of payment between c1 and c2 if this is all reported factually.

He gains contractor 2 not getting a job and contractor 3 not getting paid for a job!

I know it's hard to understand Mark, but some people get pleasure out of that! And that seems to be enough for them.

Nowt as queer as folk!

Surely though if someone chooses to live his life that that his face would look like a negative of lots of punches from different sized fists?

Yep, it should do, but as you know, often it doesn't, if you have money behind you, you don't need to be a decent person to make progress!
