I'd go a step further there Chris....

The sweet feeling of achievement is best enjoyed after knowing the pain of disappointment from having set the bar too high and failed to achieve it.

I can agree with that, too. We're all still mastering the art of calibration! :thumbup1:

Yea, I'm beginning to have second thoughts on Stefan.. seems determined to do well but I'm not sure about his state of mind...

So someone who is (subjectively) 'overly positive' is of a questionable mental state? Bullshit.

I'd rather not be dragged down into the bleak mire where many people lurk. We are not crabs in a bucket; at least, some of us are not.

If I have misinterpreted this comment of yours then please do enlighten me.

What a brilliant thread Thank You :thumbup1:

Looking back, it is clear that the times in my life when I had more of a positive outlook were the times when the most exciting opportunities presented themselves.

Look forwards to the Summer folks - it's going to be a good one!

I'm with Vespasian on this, I have found super positive people are teetering on the edge of a big fall and over compensate till they can no longer keep it up.

I don't blame other people for dragging me down and find the idea of choosing who I surround myself with based on how they rate on a positivity/negativity scale daft.

Err, a coupe of things spring to mind.. weeping at a broken down truck and seein it as a challenge to be met, mine broke down this morning, believe me, I had no tears for it, just rage...

Then there the Titanium thing, comparing it to positive thoughts, who does that?...

And not least, I've provided an explanation of how people become successful and why, and still he and others are too dense to understand it...

Basically, you are what you are, don't imagine anything you do will change that... people can spout rubbish about positive thinking all they want..

Truth is when you're on a good run you tend towards being positive, when things go wrong you tend to being miserable... don't imagine its being positive that gets you the good run, that comes the other way round...

Its called confirmation bias..... seein what they want to see... they think because they were happy when things went well, all they have to do is be happy/positive and things will get better... Nope it don't work like that..

Exhaustion, try spending a day pretending to be optimistic happy positive, I dare say your'll be so exhausted you'll need a day to get over it...

Thanks Mick.... nice to have a bit of support here an there

Positive thinking alone obviously won't bring any success but a positive attitude tends to get you taking the action needed.. because you're thinking it'll work out. If you're feeling negative and that any hard work you do won't really pay off it's unlikely any action will happen. Action brings success eventually and positive vibes can spur you into action. When things go wrong positivity can keep you striving onwards, past any setbacks. And alot of gratitude for what you have in your life helps keep you happy. I nicked all this from my Tony Robbins CDs.

Could say that positive thinking is a mental and emotional attitude focusing on the bright side, and expects positive results.

Believe I can overcome any difficulty, I do understand positive thinking is not accepted by everyone. Some consider it as pure nonsense, and flame at people following it, but i'm delighted to see there is a growing number of people understanding it's effectiveness.

To get the benefits of it you just need to adopt the positive thinking in everything you do.

The chain effect from Positive thinking is indeed impressive.

Postitivity and Enthusiasm is highly contageous in my opinion and i like to think i spread it...i call it,"The Silky Effect" it is more powerful than Kryptonite!😆😆😆 But seriously....i find positivity requires little or no energy so its not rocket science to see how that can be a benefit in life.

Have to admit I wasn't thinking very positive thoughts towards a customer when we rolled up to today's job, and they cancelled. Apparently they left a message on the office answerphone last night.

Times like this when you need a lot of grace.
