I would say that if you open an item not received dispute, the Ebay resolution team, based in Phillipines will request tracking details from the seller. This will show a signature with the correct initial and surname. If it was an opportunist who signed then its spooky how they managed to guess your wifes initial. It is possibly someone who knows your household, possibly the driver but more likely a neighbour with good intentions so I would have a good door to door enquiry

Back to Ebay resolution team, they will see the expected signature and , bearing in mind Parcelforce appears to be Ebays preferred carrier, will trust the carrier. I guess they will also back the seller but then re imburse you from their own pocket so neither buyer nor seller will be out of pocket, it has happened to us in this way

An update. The driver has admitted that he forged the signature and just left the parcel. Not sure how the cycle of reimbursement now works, but at least I should now get my money back.

That means you have had some one look at what you have got.:sneaky2:

Shame did he do it to be helpful. I know of a postie that signs recorded delivery , he got the person I know to sign a disclaimer that he could do it.

The deliveries happen and he gets on with his job. It works well in this case but the idea of signature verifies delivery.

It's a shame. The driver will probably get the sack or suspension at least.

Yes, it does, but then this is the fourth time we have had things stolen since we have lived here and we know people sneak round and look at what they might be able to take. There isn't anything here now that anyone would be likely to want - it has all gone elsewhere if it isn't in daily use. I will increase security (again) but there is only so much you can do.

I'm sure the driver was trying to be helpful, but unfortunately it isn't safe to do that here - in reality the fault lies with the thief, and they are the person who is going to get away with it (again).
