It's easier for me to just accept that TCD knows his subject, and buy RL so I can feel good about my saws

I do not dispute that Redline Racing Oil is a very good oil, but is it really any better than any other very good oil?

If so how?

 

Stihl Ultra is meant to be very good too, so what makes Redline better?

Stihl Ultra is probably very average. There are a LOT of oils between that and RL. AMS, Motul, Putoline, Castrol,...
