What about the fact that it doesn't have a lock, .......

 

There is a lock of sorts,the hook has a T section to it.You put it in sideways & twist.(As the actress said to the bishop!)

Look like a very awkward and risky job done really well.

The no knot rigging is shown from about 5:00 minutes for those who don't have time for the who like video.

Reinforcement bracing of the 3 stems also interesting would like to know how he rigged that up.

And the cutting and hoisting by pillory off the roof!

i think the system is good and iam sure one could source the hardware and splice onto a rope of your choice if you wished.

This is the other video with it in.

Personally really like it as there is no gates to forget to do up, almost impossible to cross load or side load anything that shouldn't be, something I'd get for a light rigging kit then go more traditional for blocking down.

Umm I must be missing something. If you have a rope with a karabiner on the end and a malion or another karabiner on it its still metal on rope where the malion or extra karabiner is attached, so why not just use one karabiner on the end.

 

Don't see the point of that knot less kit as I can't see how it is reducing the wear and time compared to just one steel karabiner.

I think the point is that is speeds the job up, probably adds up to a whole second or two over the course of a days work, it could be argued that its a simplification but who wants to trust a climber that cant manage a timber hitch:confused1:
